Society holding bus trip to Niagara Falls Wednesday October 9, Hensall Legion Branch 468 held -their regular meeting with a good attendance. ,Rev. Henry Annan was installed as Legion Padre, . John McAllister as 2nd Vice and Elaine Cooper and 'Dale Wareing to the executive. New member Stuart Taylor was initiated to Branch 468, members .,: Branch 468 wel- come Mr. Taylor to our mem- bership. On October 5 members from our branch visited Parkwooc) Hospital along with the branches from thc Zone, who supplied enter- tainment and gift packs to the vets. On Sunday, October 6 branch members attended. the parade, church service. laying of wreaths at the cenotaph. and dinner held in Exeter to celebrate the 80th anniver- sary of Huron County's own 161st Battalion. On Thursday, November 7 thc Legion will he conduct- ing their door-to-door cam- paign for the poppy drive beginning at 6:30 p.m: with Legion members assisted by cadets. On Sunday; November 10 the Remembrance Day service will he held at Hcnsall United Church. Mcrhbcrs are to meet at the Legion Hall by ' 9:30 a.m. to tiirm up for the parade to the church. The ser- vice will take place at 10 a.m. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them. The Hcnsall and District Horticultural Society is hav- ing a bus trip on Dec. 7. The bus trip is open to members of the community and mem- hers of other horticultural groups. The cost is $50 for members of horticultural groups and $53 for non- members. Kay Mock and Helen McLean gave a presentation on their Alaska cruise. Isabel gave the devotional, the meeting closed with the Benediction. A tasty lunch was served by Mary Roobol and Hilda Payne. At Hcnsall United Church Rev. Hcnry Annen conducted the service with Doug Klopp as organist. The greeter was Bill Gibson with Rayc and Jean Jacohc and Dave Campbell ushering the wor- shippers. Carl Payne's 90th birthday will he celebrated at Queensway Nursing Home from 2-4 on Nov. 2. The Friendship Circle is collecting clean , used cloth- ing for Mission Service and Friendship House.
