Bear Facts 'Recreation` Preview by Mummima � rty Bedar� d The Recreation Department will be accepting Nominations for the Annual Citizenship Awards. These awards are handed out in 3 different categories: Service to Sports, Civic Service and Humanitarian Service. Please look for a nomination form in today's issue of the Huron Expositor. Sherry McCall's Step Dancing and Beginner Plus Clogging will begin on October 1 at 4 p.m. Line Dancing and Intermediate Clogging will begin on October 10 at 7 p.m. Call Sherry for more information at 527-1307. All classes are held at the Seaforth and District Community Centres. The Seaforth Horticultural Society will be selling peren- nials, bulbs, indoor plants and home baking at Ciderfest on Sunday, September 29. Child Find of Huron County will be hosting a Variety Show on Sunday, October 27 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the Seaforth and District Community Centres. For' more information or advanced tickets call 527- 1401. Aluminum for Athletics fundraiser begins Monday, Sept. 23 the Students' Council starts a new fundraiser: "Aluminum for Athletics." Students will bring empty pop Dans to sup- port the athletic program. By collecting 30,000 pop cans SDHS can profit $1,000 to keep the Golden Bears in their winning tradition. With every can brought in students will receive one homeroom point. T"-' ' --- room competition will be over near the end of the school year and the award will be a trip to Sportsworld. Bears Booster Cards are available through all partici- pating merchants and stu- dents of SDHS. The cards offer a chance at discounts and provide funds for school functions. Thursday, Sept. 26 the ^r -‘t^ ^•^^ -..idents and their parents are invited to attend a spaghetti supper at 6 p.m. This will be an excellent opportunity for staff and fam- ilies to socialize and be wel- comed to the school. After supper there will be a student fair and SDHS "Home Videos!" Starting October 4, choco- late bar sellers will be on your doorstep. Yum! Yum!
