Charlene Townsend, this county's representative in the Queen of the Furrow contest, was runner-up, second amongst the 29 contestants. She lives at RR 4 Seaforth and got the nod from the other contestants as the 1996 IPM's "Miss Congeniality." Perth County's Pamela Smelski won.
