Former Bluewater
inmate murdered
A 16 -year-old scheduled to
appear in Goderich court
tomorrow in connection with
February's- riot at the
Bluewater Youth Centre was
killed Saturday.
James Lonnie died of mas-
sive head injuries. He was
attacked at the Wellington
Detention Centre in Guelph
and pronounced dead at
Hamilton General Hospital .
Another 16 -year-old inmate
has been charged with first-
degree murder.

John C. Doig was an attor-
ney, FBI agent and business-
man who went to school at
SS 2, Tuckersmith. The
Doigs now live in the
Home's Masonic Village
Estates. Mr. Doig's father
was William McLaren Doig,
who lived on Conc. 2 of
Tuckersmith, and later went
into law in the United States.
The chapel and education
centre has a seating capacity
of 408 persons on the main
floor, and features 10,200
square feet of usable space.
Shaw retiring in January
Bruce Shaw of Exeter, a
high school principal in
Huron for 21 of the past 32
years he has been employed
by the county board of educa-
tion, is retiring as principal of
Goderich District Collegiate
Institute at the start of
January, a position he has

held for the past seven years.
Deb Homuth, one of the
incumbent vice -principals at
GDCI, has been appointed
acting principal at that
school.
Shaw was the principal at
Seaforth District High School
in the 1980s.

Hullett thefts
A truck was stolen on
Conc. 13 of Hullett Township
Aug. 31, another stolen vehi-
cle was recovered and a com-
pact disc player and CDs
were stolen from an unlocked
car in the same Maitland.

Three Londesborough peo-
ple, a 25 -year-old and 23 -
year -old and a 17 -year-old
young offender, have been
charged with "assaulting.
