"Shocked" was the com- mon response. The cuts came directly from last spring's 40 per cent cut to the $L47 -million provin- cial heritage organizations program, according to a report in The Globe and Mail. "We looked at three main areas in the organizations: membership support, pro- grams and services and finan- cial accountability. and sta- • • Dog classes starting in fall The Happy Citizens Club would like to invite all seniors to its first meeting of the new season. This will be a potluck dinner beginning at noon at the Seaforth Legion. Euchre will he played follow- ing dinner. The Seaforth Recreation Department will host dog obedience classes again this fall, beginning Oct.l. There 'will be beginner and level 2 classes. Other fall programs to watch for will be wood refinishing, volleyball and basketball. Registration for fall and winter programs (hockey, ringette,figure skating, hroomball, curling, children's power skating, and much more) is tonight and tomor- row , Sept. 4 and 5, at the Seaforth and District Community Centres from 7 to 9 p.m.. Most groups have late fees it is registration is recommended on these two nights. The rcc department is host- ing power skating for chil- dren ages 7 to 16 years, from Monday, Sept. 16 to Thursday, Sept: 26. It will total ofeight, one- hour ice times .
