Organizers estimate this year's event was the roughly 20,000 people in town. About 4,00 bean and pork chop meals were served. Fall and winter registrations next Registration for fall and winter programs is next Wednesday and Thursday nights, Sept. 4 and 5 at the Seaforth and District Community Centres from 7 to 9 p.m.. This is an opportu- nity to register for hockey, ringette, figure skating, broomball, curling, children's power skating and more. Most groups have late fees, so register on these two' nights and save money. The Seaforth Ringette Association would like to announce that all new players need to bring a copy of their birth certificate when regis- tering. The local ringette association is also accepting registrations for the ringette school Sept. 9 to the 13. The Seaforth Recreation Department is hosting power skating for children , ages 7 to 16 years, from Monday, Sept. 16 to Thursday, Sept. 26. It will total of eight, one- hour ice times. Registration fee is $45. The parent and tot play group begins again on Tuesday mornings from 9 to 11:30 am, starting Sept. 10 at Northside United Church. All tots and parents are wel- come. Children will enjoy games, toys, singing and interaction with others. The recreation department hosts a hockey skills devel- opment camp beginning Sun., Sept. 15. This camp will run Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday ,for two weeks 'giving the partici- pants 13 hours of ice time. , Registration fee is $60, and the camp is open to all chil- dren ages 8 to 13 years. Your instructor will be Brian O'Rielly. This camp will give the participant an early chance to tone up their skills before the skating season swings into full action. Police say no need to rush With school about to start and the last big weekend of summer in a couple of days, the Ontario Provincial Police urges drivers to be both patient and courteous on our busy roads this Labour Day.
