142. DEATHS
•
DANTZER, Jerry: Mr. Jerry
Dantzer of 188 Toronto St.,
Mitchell and formerly of Port Elgin
passed away at the Palliative Care .
Unit of Stratford General Hospital
on Saturday, August 24, 1996 in
his 55th year. Born at Seaforth on
October 20, 1941, he was a son of
Mary (Flanagan) Dantzer of Dublin
and the late Andrew Dantzer. On
October 10, 1964 he was married
to the former Jane Macdonald. The
couple resided in Port Elgin where
Jerry was employed with Ontario
Hydro B.N.P.D. They had resided
in Mitchell since 1994. He was a
member` of St. Vincent de Paul
Roman Catholic Church in Mitchell
and was an avid amateur radio
operator (VE3CAC). Surviving
besides his wife and mother are
three daughters MaryLou Thoms
and her husband Allan of
Brampton, Sherri Lee Withers and
her husband Jeff of Lucan and
Andrea Dantzer of Kitchener, two
granddaughters Emily Thoms and
Kelsey Withers, three brothers
Gard Dantzer and his wife Marjorie
of Mississauga, Ron Dantzer and
his wife Mernagh of Chatham and
Len Dantzer and his wife Kathy of
London. Also surviving are
brothers and sisters-in-law Ted
Macdonald and his wife Pat of
Mitchell, Joanne Donaldson and
her husband Bill of Shakespeare,
Pat Taylor and.her husband Russ
of Staffa, Tim Macdonald of
Walkerton, Bill Macdonald of
British Columbia, Sherry Stevanus.
and her husband Bruce of
Waterloo and Maribeth Nevin and
her husband Barry of Mitchell as
well as a number of nieces and
nephews. Besides his father he
was predeceased by a sister Mary
Lou Dantzer. Friends were
received at the Lockhart Funeral
Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell
on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Mass of the Christian Bursal was
celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul
R.C. Church, Mitchell on Tuesday
at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. A.
DelCiancio, Celebrant. Interment
was in St. Patrick's Cemetery,
Dublin. Parish prayers were offered
at the funeral home on Monday
evening at 7:00 p.m. 42-35x1
