The Seaforth Centenaires
opened training camp for the
upcoming Ontario Hockey
Association Junior "D"evel-
opment League season on
home ice last (Tuesday)
night.
Practices continue in
Seaforth this week and next,
leading up to the camp's first
exhibition, an intra -squad
game .on the Friday night of
the Labour Day weekend.
OHA refs Darren Crocker
and J.P..Zubec have agreed to
referee that game, which gets
underway at .

The meters recently
installed on lights -at the local
tennis courts, next to the high
school, are apparently a pay-
ing proposition.
Seaforth recreation director
Marty Bedard said early
income is excellent and
might pay for the new metres
themselves in as little as two
years, in response to Coun.
John Ball's questions at last
week's council meeting.
The system also cuts costs
by conserving energy, the
recreation director says. He
said it had cost the town
about $25 to pay for lighting
at the local tennis courts this
year. In a comparable -period
last year the bill was about
$115.
Archers third
Four members of Seaforth's
Silvercreek Archery Club fin-
ished third in their respective
categories Waterloo County
Bowmen Association's
Tournament on Sunday. They
were Kyle Brown (cub divi-
sion), Kevin Brown (cadet),
Mary Barnes (bowhunter
unlimited) and Chris Beech
(bowhunter limited).

Diane Martina Vanneste and Earl William Flynn were married
on Saturday, June 22, at St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church
in Zurich by Father Matthias R. Wionski. The bride is the
daughter of Marcel and Simonne Vanneste of RR2 Kippen and
the groom is the son of Bill and Marie Flynn of RR4 Clinton.
Wedding music was provided by Carolyn Regicr of Exeter and
Debbie Stienman of Seaforth, The maid of honor was Christine
Preszcator of Goderich, friend of the bride and groom. The
bridesmaids were Debbie Bedard of Seaforth. friend of the
bride, Cathy Vanneste of West Bank, B.C., sister of the bride,
and Rose Workman of Blyth, sister of the groom. The best man
was Ritchie Cox of Clinton, friend of the groom. The guests
were ushered by Darrell Postill of Varna and Travis Postill of
Seaforth, friends of the groom and Dave Vanneste of Clinton,
brother of the bride. Following a dinner and reception at
Clinton Community Centre and a honeymoon in Niagara Falls,
