It's hard to tell the men from the women and vice - versa in this tale of a bed and breakfast based on the 1950's movie Three Coins In The Fountain. In case the audi- ence has never seen the movie, you get frequent glimpses of it during scene changes projected onto the white curtain. It adds to the bizarre atmosphere of this zany comedy. A lot of strange guests con- verge on the Villa Eden, whose host Charisse (Liza Balkan) is trying to learn Italian and is driving her guests crazy with her brutal cooking. There's an obses- sive archaeologist (E.A. Coates), a mysterious movie star travelling incognito (Jocelyne Zucco), a budding architect (Andrew Dolha) and quarreling triplets who are never seen together, played by an energetic Jacques (or is it Jackie or Jacklyn?) Basko. Mystery enters this play right before the end of Act 1 when one of the guests drops dead. Was it murder or bad FOSSIL FIT - In this scene from the zany Blyth Festival comedy Villa Eden, Eric Coates as Dr. Brice, left, has a fossil fit as Andrew Dolha as Andrew and Liza Balkan as Charisse try to calm her (or him?) down. (Photo by James Hockings/Off Broadway Photography). cooking? We don't know until all the alibis and scenar- ios are worked out by Constable Remus (Wayne or Wanda'? Graham), who pro- nounces his silent "p's". Of particular note, is the hilarious hypnosis scene which takes one of the triplets through the birthing process. Villa Eden is a little like Sherlock Holmes meets John Cleese at Fawity Towers on his way to La Cage Aux Folies (if that makes any sense, which this play doesn't pretend to make too much of). There are some priceless scenes and moments like the Homemakers hold enjoyable indoor summer picnic Seaforth and Arca Town and Country Homemakers Dining Out held an enjoyable summer indoor picnic on July 1,8 with 28 attending. Organizer John Jam la helped the group enjoy mini golf, bean bag toss, crooked ball throw darts, etc., etc., with great participation and humour, and fun was had by. all: Door prize winner was Johanna Verbeme, and 50-50 draw winner was Beatrice Stoll. We are all looking forward to Aug. 15 for the next dinner Integrated network may form About 20 community rep- resentatives from the area discussed the potential for establishing an integrated community network (ICN) when they met at Clinton July 3. A steering committee to explore next steps was estab- lished, which includes among others, Dorothy Medd of Seaforth Community Hospital. It will meet again in the middle of next month. An ICN would facilitate more efficient, cost-effective communication to meet the specific needs of participants, states a press release from meeting co -hosts, OMAFRA anrd the Huron County Board of Education. The meeting was attended by representatives of Huron County hospital/health, municipal government. social services, education, provin- cial agency and private sec- tors.
