Clinton Raceway began its
27th annual harness -racing
season earlier than is unusual
on Sunday, to try and avoid
the problems with had weath-
er it had been having racing
after Labour Day.

Boyd earns tryout with national junior team
Boyd Devereaux of
Seaforth is one of 41 players
invited to the Canadian
national junior hockey team's
evaluation camp in Calgary
from Aug. 2 through 8.
If Boyd, now a centre with
the Kitchener Rangers.
makes it he will be the third
player who hegan in the
Seaforth minor and junior
hockey systems to go on and
make what has become the
best junior squad in the world
over last decade.

won a gold medal with the

Fire destroys home
Fire caused about S 100,000
damage to the home of Greg
and Sandra Burns and family
on James St. in Clinton on
June 8.
