President Margaret M. Smale welcomed everyone and introduced the head table guests. Greetings were given by Rick Cooper, S.C.N. Chief Financial Officer and Mary McTavish Region 2 chairman and Frances R. Teatero. The guest speaker was Mary McTavish, Region 2 chairman with her topic Health Care with the H.A. O. (Hospital Association of Ontario). Mildred Traviss led in a sing song by all. Joyce Doig gave a very interesting talk and showed slides on her trip to South Africa which was much enjoyed. Certificates were given to the following by Margaret M. Smale, president and Mary McTavish Region 2 chair. PHOTO BY DAVID SCOTT 75th CELEBRATIONS - St. Columban CWL members march in procession last Wednesday night at St. Columban Church to open a prayer service'dedicated to past, pre- sent and future members as part of 75th anniversary celebrations. June social celebrates 75 years The St. Columban Catholic Women's League held its annual Junc social last Wednesday in the St. Columban parish hall. To commemorate the 75th anniversary. cif thc St. Columban CWL the event started with a prayer service in the church. Following the opening procession the SDHS hand; under the direc- tion of Charles Kalhticisch played "Can You Feel the Love Tonight-. The prayers were led by Fr. Joseph Hardy. Muriel Murphy of Goderich. President of the London Diocesan CWL Council gave the introduction. Several ladies took part in prayers and Ritual for the past. pre- sent and future. Concert piece 2 "Tears From Heaven" by the hand. Prayers of the Faithful we're done by Ann Marie Maloney. Following the prayer ser- vice we went to the basement for entertainment and draws. Paul Thompson. director of CKNX Barn Dance Live was the guest speaker. Eighty-eight descendants of thc late John and Louise Eckert attended the 20th annual Eckert family reunion on Sunday at the Dublin Pavilion and Recreational Centre. Hosts for this year's reunion were Fred and Bette Eckert and family of Cambridge. A prayerservice was held at the Eckert grave site at the Dublin cemetery. Families attending the reunion came from Mitchell. Stratford, Seaforth. Dublin,. Owen Sound. Strathroy. Lucknow. Cambridge. Walkerton, New Hamburg, Kitchener, London and St. Columban. Adults, teens and children all enjoyed several. games. races and a hall game. All children attending received a prize. Winners of the raffle draw were Mike Eckert and Darlene Cronin. Door prizes were won by Pam Schoonderwoerd. Marie Eckert. Gerry Ryan .. Heather Schoonderwoerd and Mary. Jo Nelson. A youth draw of two tapes were won by Amanda Ryan and Jason Ryan.
