will be held each Tuesday
from 10 - 11:30 am for 8
weeks beginning July 2, 1996
and the adults will be held
each Thursday from 7 - 8:30
pm. Beginning July 4, 1996.
registration fee will be $10
for the Children and $20 for
the adults. Call the

Houseleague Ball and T -
Ball will begin next week.
Houseleague will begin on
Monday, June 17, please look
in today's paper for team
lists. Junior and senior were
combined to make three
teams. The houseleague is
held at the high school south
ball diamond. T -Ball will
begin on Wednesday, June 19
at 6:30 pm, also at the high
school South Diamond. For
more information, please call
the Recreation Office at 527-

The Seaforth Recreation
Department will also be
offering a Teen Sports Camp
which will include a CPR
course. This camp will be
held from July 8 to July 12,
1996 at the-Seaforth District
High. School. This week-
long program will help devel-
op each participants self
esteem, and gain leadership
skills through sport. Teens
will also be introduced to a
CPR Course which is benefi-
cial during job searching.

The Seaforth Recreation
Department in co-operation
with the Seaforth District
High School and the Huron
County Board of Education
will be hosting a Computer
Camp for children ages 9 to
14 years of age. Participants
will be able to surf the net,
play games, use CD-Roms,
and much more. This pro-
gram will, consist of 2 - 1
week sessions from 9 am to
12 noon, Monday to Friday,
atSDHS. The dates are from
July 22 to July 26 and July
29 to August 2, 1996.
Registration Fee will be $75
per person, per session.
Please register before July 19
by .calling the Recreation
Office at 527-0882.

Making music in Staffa
On §unday afternoon, June
9 at'i.p.m., the pupils of
music teacher, Joyce Fell,
Staffa, held a piano, violin
and singing recital at Hibbert
United Church, Staffa, in
Daynard Hall.
Taking part in the recital
were: Brandon Wettlaufcr
(piano), Drew Harris (violin),
Laura Morris (piano),
Meghan Weber (piano,
singing), Andy Feeney
(piano), Kelly Cronin (vio-
lin), ' Krista Henderson
Blyth season starts soon
The Blyth Festival will kick
off its 1996 season Friday,
June 21 with a gala •dinner,
official opening of its Art
Gallery, a performance of
Barndancc Live, and a post -
performance reception. This
year, the Festival celebrates
22 years of presenting new
Canadian plays.
Festivities will get. under-
way at 5 p.m. -with the season
opening of the Bainton
Gallery featuring the floral -
inspired work of award-win-
ning London artist Bonnie
Parkinson. Parkinson herself
will be on hand for the cere-
monies.
The Blyth and District
•Community Centre will lie
decorated in a country and
-western theme for the gala
dinner •to take place at 6:15
p.m. Special guest speaker at
this year's dinner will he
Christopher Newton, Artistic
Director of the Shaw
Festival. After dinner, the
Blyth Festival Singers will
p' rform in the Blyth
Memorial Community Hall
courtyard.
On stage at 8:30 p.m. is the
premiere of Barndance Live,
a musical collective celebrat-
ing the great touring radio
show. The CKNX Barn
Dance, followed by a post -
performance reception in the
lower hall.
CKNX AM 920, sponsors
of Barndance Live, will
broadcast live from Blyth
Memorial Community Hall
courtyard during the day
from 6 to 10 a.m. and 3 to 6
p.m. Everyone is invited to
drop by for free coffee and
donuts and to share their
memories of The CKNX
,Barn Dance on the air.
Barndance Live will run in
repertory until August 23,
along with, the moving love
story Mabelle Mabel, the
zany comedy Villa Eden. and
a warm family drama,
Fireworks. The season ends
August 31.
Another manager
for Maitland
The Maitland Valley
Conservation Authority has a
new acting general manager.
He is Phil Beard, the third
gm the authority has hired in
as many months.
He replaces Paul
Weitendorf, who resigned to
take a public relations and
fundraising position with the
Grey -Bruce health centre.
Beard has been an employ-
ee with the Maitland authori-
ty for 17 years.
