Championship playdowns. •

New midget
rules for junior
detailed by OHA
The group that governs
amateur hockey in Ontario
has detailed and clarified the
new rules recently enacted,
replacing a controversial pro-
posal to make year of midget
hockey mandatory before
playing junior.
The Ontario Hockey
Federation says junior C and
D teams, such as Scatorth's
Centenaires, will be able to
register a total of four players
each season who are 16-
