New store showcases area vendors
BY DAVID SCOTT
Expositor Editor
Seaforth has a new store in
town that lives up to its name
- "Something for Everyone."
The store features a wide
variety of hand -made, home-
made and many one -of -a -
kind items from more than 20
area vendors. Most of the
people who rent the floor
space at the store have full-
time jobs or are retired and
make things more as a hobby.
Karen Campbell -Taylor, of
Seaforth, is the store's
owner. She thinks
"Something for Everyone" is
unique. "It has an all -age and
all gender appeal."
She had talked about the
idea of the store for quite
awhile. "It came together. It's
a combination of everything I
love - craft shows, farmers'
market. I love knick-knacks
and gift baskets.
The store even features a
playroom for kids to play in.
Campbell -Taylor's one -year-
old Owen is her constant
companion at the store.
The store hours are some-
thing she's still working out.
Starting in June and for the
summer, "Something for
Everyone" will be open
Sundays. "I'm open to sug-
gestions for my hours. I've
stayed open late a few
Thursdays. I will stay open
late sometimes if it's a nice
night."
The following is a list of all
the present vendors at the
store. There is still some
floor space available.
Vendors rent a spot in the
store but no commission is
taken from their sales.

Have a pooch who needs to
he pampered?
A new Main St. business in
Seaforth has the solution.
Doggie Dooze Grooming
Salon opened May 1 at 81
Main St. South and offers
grooming to any size and any
breed of canine. Owner
Christine Craven, - of
Mitchell, has over six years
of experience in the dog
.grooming business, previous-
ly working for Sharpe Cut in
Stratford.
This line of work doesn't
come without its hazards.
"Probably every finger on
my hands has been bitten,"
says Craven, who doesn't.
believe in muzzling dogs she
grooms. When dogs are
restrained or muzzled, they
usually get hyper and behave
worse, she said. "A lot of
people like that I don't use
restraints."
It takes about two hours,
depending on the size of the
dog, to complete "the works"
which includes a bath, fur
grooming, nail clipping, cars
and glands cleaning. Craven
features oatmeal and moistur-
izer baths. "It's good for their
skin. A lot of dogs get
eczema."
Aside from a discount rate
for the whole grooming pack-
age, Craven offers each part
individually as well - dike the
fur grooming or baths.
Groomings can be arranged
by making an appointment
ahead of time or by bringing
your dog down tothe salon.
Owners drop off their pet and
return when the grooming is
complete.
"They're usually better
when they're away from their
owner. Dogs are like kids,
they're better for someone
else."
And when the makeover is
complete, the dogs get their
own bandana, hand -made by.
Craven, to wear home. For
Halloween she'll have special
glow -in -the -dark bandanas
and seasonal ones for
Christmas.
Even for young dogs, she
offers "puppy cuts" - a bath
and just a trim or else "the fur
will get too thick."
The grooming business
grew out of Craven's experi-
ence in Stratford and natural
love of pets. She owns a terri-
er poodle named Tasha and
her mother has two King
Charles spaniels.
Doggie Doozc Grooming
Salon is open from 8:30 a.m.
to 5 p.m. from Monday to
Friday and 8:30 a.m. to. 12
noon Saturday.

Reflexology heals, relieves stress
BY DAVID SCOTT
Expositor Editor
Having problems with
stress? Is some part of your
body aching?
It might all he in your feet.
Reflexology may he the
answer. It's a form of natural
healing therapy which dates
back thousands of years
administered by special mas-
sage and manipulation tech-
niques to thc feet and to the
hands. Reflexology is based
on the principle that there arc
reflex points on our hands
and feet that correspond to
every gland, organ and part
of the body. When pressure is
applidd to these points, it
relieves stress, improves cir-
culation and promotes natural
healing of the body.
Diane Lepp, of Mitchell,
offers reflexology treatments,
foot care and Swedish mas-
sages with aromatherapy oils
and as her business name
states, she will "Go To You."
Hcr reflexology business has
been operating since the end
of March. Lcpp will travel
within an hour's radius of
Mitchell to do treatments or
clients can choose to use thc
treatment room at her home.
All treatments are by
appointment only.
Everybody can benefit from
a reflexology treatment, she
says. "You don't have to have
a chronic problem."
Reflexology works at get-
ting rid of uricc acid crys-
talines which build up in the
bottom of the feet.
Lepp has a long back-
ground in health work. Most
recently she's become a reg-
istered reflexologist with the
Reflexology Association of
Canada. She has been a Red
Cross Home Care worker for
six years. She has taken a
nursing skills footcare course
through Conestoga College,
has her certificate in
Gerontology/working with
the aged, has taken the Home
Support 1,2,3 program, a
therapeutic touch course,
massage course and chronic
pain management.
Hcr foot care clients are
mostly seniors who need help
with toenails, calluses and
corns.
Treatment times during the
week arc all day Tucsday and
Friday afternoons, most
evenings and weekends.
Appointments can be made
by calling (519) 348-4636.
