The Huron Expositor, 1996-05-22, Page 13A 19 -year-old Egmondville man who gave a ride to an acquaintance was fined $200 in court Monday. Court was told Steve G. Fehr was on probation as a result of an assault conviction when the incident occurred Feb. 24. Among his probation conditions were orders that he not associate with certain peo- ple. When police stopped him, in McKillop Twp., for having no taillights, they found one of the people on the pro- scribed list in the passenger seat. "It was raining, he saw a hitchhiker and picked him up," Macdonald said. "I'm almost tempted to get a weather report for that day," retorted Hunter. We were welcomed by our very competent organizer, John Jamula, who read some amusing poems and stories. Eleanor and Arthur Horst entertained us with enjoyable music. The incident occurred Jan. 9 in Vanastra. Court was told Sharon L. Woods, 36, got into an argument with the man and broke a coffee mug. He tried to wrestle the broken piece out of her hand and was stabbed in the hand with it. Along with the probation, she is prohibited from owning or operating firearms for 10 years.
