$680 in proceeds was donated to the hospital.
Successful car wash for local high school
On May 4, Seaforth District
High School Students'
Council held a car wash. The
weather had little affect and
about 30 cars were washed.
The council would like to

The last school dance was.
I held May 9 with huge music
, video screens and lighting
effects. Earlier that day the
council put on a fabulous pep
rally, featuring a great video
of clips of student life at
SDHS.
Students' council elections
will be held on May 23. This
year's council will he an
extremely hard act to follow,
as they have established stan-
dards for organization, suc-
cessful fund-raising projects
and exciting activities. A list,
for nominations will he
established May 17. The staff
of SDHS is very proud of the
excellence of the young peo-
ple at the school.
This past week was a testa-
ment to the spirit and humour
at SDHS. Several teachers
volunteered to be taped to the
gymnasium wall to help
fund -raise for the Students'
Council! Students paid 50
cents for -an arm's length of

Minor soccer to get more organized Thursday
Seaforth Minor Soccer will
be holding a meeting on
Thursday, May 16 at 7 pm.
At the Seaforth and District
Community Centres. This
meeting will he to make up
teams and prepare fol; the
beginning of soccer. All par-
ents dre encouraged to attend.
The Scatorth Cooperative
Children's Centre would like
to invite any teens to their
BABYSITTING COURSE.
This course will be held for
five Mondays beginning on
May 27 from 4 to 6 pm. The_
course is through the Family
Studies Division of the
Lethbridge Community
College and Mary Verberne
and Shirley Brooker will be
your instructors. For

Department with co-opera-
tion of the Seaforth Lions
Pool will be offering a num-
ber of AQUA -AEROBIC
CLASSES beginning the end
of June. There will be an

SWIMMING LESSON
REGISTRATION will be
held at the Lions Pavilion on
Saturday, June 1 and
Saturday, June 8 from 10 am
to 1 pm. The new Aqua
Quest program will be intro-
duced this year.
"Helping You Live With
Cancer" support group for
cancer patients, family and
friends information evening.
Anyone interested is wel-
come to attend at the Seaforth
Manor on Wednesday, May
29 at 7:30 p.m.
Refreshments will follow.
The evening will be hosted
by trained facilitators. For

ues every Wednesday after-

the wall! Surprisingly. most
of them stuck! (Gee, I'll try
almost anything once!)
The Girls' Soccer team
continues to improve despite
the dwindling number of
players. Plagued by injuries
and a lack of substitutes, they
continue to struggle for their
first win. Last Thursday they
lost a well -fought battle to
Goderich 2-0. Tara McLellan
had a couple of great scoring
chances, hitting the crossbar
once and shooting one foot
wide of the net another time.
The Boys' Soccer team is
tied for second place in the
league after their win against
Wingham on May 6. Exeter
also bear them 8-0.
The grade I1 advanced
English students enjoyed a
performance of 'Amadeus' at
the Stratford Festival this
past week. The class was
thrilled to take advantage of
living so close to North
America's most respected
classical theatre.

SDHS Formal. Check out the

March Break loss
The second week of the
recreation department's
March Break program in
Seaforth resulted in a deficit
of $477.17.
Rec director Marty Bedard
reported to last Tuesday
night's regular meeting of
council that "unfortunately,
with registrations down in the
second week...total revenue
was $1,263 when total bud-
geted was 52.000. Total
expenses were $1.740 and
total budgeted was $1,965."
He recommended council
consider eliminating the sec-
ond week of the program
next year.
Two chip wagons
. Mitchell Council has
approved applications for two
mobile chip wagons in that
town this summer.
