Two well-respected polls
released with much fanfare
high on the front pages of big
daily newspapers in the last
couple of days have dramati-
cally
ramati<.cally differing conclusions. -
The Environics Research
Group poll conducted by thc
Toronto Star indicates the
Liberals arc -now.11ie most
popular with the public in
Ontario.with 42 per cent sup-
port, with .the ruling
Progressive Conservatives. at
.37 per cent.
But an Angus Reid poll for
Souham News shows the PCs
with a solid 51 percent of the
vote, and the Liberals well
hack at 34 per cent.
That's a 14 per rent differ-
ence for the Tories and an
eight point swing for the
Grits. hard to explain and
ignore, or trust.
One statistic both polls
agree on is the NDP remains
well -back in voter popularity
in third.
Industry experts and apolo-
gists say the questions you
ask. arid the way you' ask
them. can get you different
answers. •
Sewage surplus
Seaforth Council has autho-
rized admini trator Jim
Crocker, to apply Seaforth
Sewage Works' surpluses of
$119.651, previously held by
the Ontario Clean Water
Agency. to pay down previ-
ous loans to the town's own
sewer capital reserve fund.
The payment and restruc-
turing of four loans. to 7.84
per cent for 18 years! will
save Seaforth $8.485 annual -

Earth Week. In .exchange, the store will buy raffle tickets to raise money for new play-
ground equipment at the school. Tickets will also be available for sale at the store. The
cleaning crew included:_ Nancy Denham, vice -chair for the parents' council, and students
Katie Thomas, Andrew Southgate, Amanda Vick, Nick Elligsen, Joey Nesbitt, Kristin
Maydell, Quentin Burgess and Jeremy Hildebrand.
