"position by signing postcards
with its pre-printed point of
view available at any of its
schools, then forwarding then
to the MPP.
The letter the hoard is dis-
tributing to parents and
ratepayers also states:
"Wc do not agree with the
proposal to join the puhlic
school hoards of Huron and
Perth counties together into
one new entity. We think
there is a better way. Please
support our call to establish a
single- school hoard for.
Huron County: one that pro-
vides for all sectors and pro-
tects the language and reli-
gious rights of all parties."

Lightning problems
Lightning struck a pole
near the horse barns in late
February which led to -one of
the phases feeding the
Seaforth arena to disconnect
in a snow storm a week later.

mate damages totalling
$4,000 to date.
According to Seaforth and
District Community Centres •
management committee min-
utes: "The loss of one phase
caused the 40 hp compressor
motor, 10 hp two -speed con-
denser fan motor. several
fuses. and the two -speed con-
troller on the condenser to he
burned out".
Kincardine pulls ads
There arc two weekly
newspapers in Kincardine
where town council has
decided to pull all its adver-
tising out of the News where
rates arc higher. opting
instead for the independent
which is cheaper hut has a
weekly circulation 1.058
smaller.
The town expects to save
up to $6,000 because of the 6
decision.
