The closest of the five games was for junior A hon- ours, with the Oilers shading the Leafs 4-3. Everett Smith scored four times for the Ducks, and Kyle Henderson added two more. Brent O'Reilly posted the evening's only shutout, lead- ing the Canadiens to a 2-0 tri- umph and the junior C title. The other two games were more lopsided. Wade Broome had a hat trick, and Trevor Engel tallied twice to lead the Whalers to a 7-1 victory over the Sharks in junior C . J. D.
