World Day of Prayer attended
An interested crowd of
ladies from various churches
attended the World Day of
Prayer at Trinity Anglican
Church, Mitchell oh Friday,
March 1. Ladies from each of
the Mitchell churches led us
in thought and prayers. Vicki
Williamson introduced the
guest speaker, Martin Vink,
who with his dad, Theo Vink,
spent 12 days in Haiti in
January. He informed us of
the life there and we looked
at several pictures and items
he brought hack.
New babies are always a
thrill! Congratulations to
Darren and Colleen Crocker
on the birth of 'their son,
Samuel Mark, who arrived on
Feb. 12. Congratulations to
proud grandparents Jim and
Helen Crocker, Seaforth and
Jim and Jean Maloney,
Dublin.

Guest speaker talks on Haiti
The St. Columban C.W.L.
ladies hosted the World Day
of Prayer on Friday. March 1
at .7:30 p.m. at the St.
Columhan,•Catholic CHurch.
About 651ten. and women
from First Lutheran Church,
Logan, St. Peter's Lutheran
Church, Brodhagen, St.
Patrick's Catholic Church,
Dublin and St. Columban
Catholic Church attended.
Also attending were
Reverend Pastor Book of
Brodhagen and Father Joseph
Hardy of St. Columban.
Reflection was based on the
theme God Calls Us to
Respond prepared by the
Christian Women of Haiti.
Dr. Don Melady of Toronto
(formerly from the- St.
Columban arca). was the
St. Columban

guest speaker. Dr. Melady
spoke on his experiences on
the two occasions he spent in
Haiti ministering immuniza-
tion vaccine to the women
and children of Haiti.
Following the church service
light refreshments and fel-
lowship were enjoyed in the
church basement.
Larry and Lina Murray,
Adrian. Marissa and Lydia of
Brampton visited on the
weekend with Agnes Murray.
Dr. Don Melady of Toronto
visited on the weekend with
his mother, Frances Melady.
Lawn bowling club holds euchre
The Seaforth Lawn
Bowling Club held it's
February euchre Tuesday
evening at the Orange Hall
with 40 in attendance. Hosts
for the evening were Thelma
Coombs, Beth Pryce, Isabelle
Hunt and Robert Argyle. Ten
tables of euchre were in play
and winner: were: ladies
high,'Beth Pryce: ladies lone
hands, Marjorie Rock: ladies
consolation, Dorothy
,vicCluskic; men's high. Sang
McClure: men's lone hands,
Ken Preszcator; men's conso-
lation, Frank Hulley.
The next euchre will he
March 26 at 8 p.m. at the
Orange Hall and hosts will he
Dorothy McCluskie,
Marjorie Rock and Nellie
Jansen.
The sympathy of club
members goes out at this
time to Viola Lawson in the
sudden passing of her sister.

15-8. The champs had an eas-
ier time of it against St.
Marys in the final, winning
twice by a 15-6 score.
WOSSA hockey
at Clinton
London Saunders and
Ingersoll advanced to the
WOSSA hockey final at
Clinton Tuesday, with wins
in the semi-finals Monday.
Saunders clobbered Sarnia
St. Pats 7-3. and Ingersoll got
by St. Marys 2-1 in overtime.
The winner of last night's
final advances to the Ontario
championships at Burlington.
