The Midget Girls Volleyball
team visited SHDHS on
Tuesday, Jan. 16, and played
some well -fought games
against St. 'Anne's and
SHDHS. The first match
against Exeter was deservedly
won, the next two lost, but
were played well. The team
should be proud, as we are of.

On Friday, Jan. 26, the
Grade 8's in all the SDHS
feeder schools will be touring
our school. Close to 100
students will be welcomed by
the students' council, then
taken on a tour of the school
by peer mentors. The grade
8's will have an opportunity
to meet the teachers they will
have next September.

Grade 8 Parents' Night will
be held Thursday, Feb. 8 at
7pm at SDHS. Parents will be
able to see the school and
meet the Grade 9 teachers.

completed writing final exams
for semester one. Teachers
will be doing their bi-annual
hike to the top of Paperwork

Seaforth Women's Institute
The Seaforth Women's Thc meeting was turned

Fair.

given. Some of the 1995
Homecoming Video was
shown.
Doris Hugill thanked Olive
for using her home for the
meeting. Lunch was served
by the hostesses Annona
Crozier and Lillian Pepper
with help from Gladys Doig
and Marjorie Rock. The next
meeting will be held on Feb.
13 at 1:30 pun at the
Northside United Church.
First 4-H Chinchilla Club

This is the first 44f
Chinchilla Club in Canada.
Ray and Barb Storey arc the
leaders. There arc ten
members in the club. Each of
us will get two chinchillas
and then we will show and
sale them.
We talked, alxtut where
chinchillas carne from and
she's hoping she'll be back at
SDHS as soon as possible
because she wants to wear
her new school jacket with all
the other inmates!

Mr: Ron Ritchie will be
spending second semester in
Goderich running the
`SCOOP' program - co-
operative learning for students
with special learning needs.
Mrs. Ruthann Waldick will
be spending second semester
with Emily Aileen, and a
new -comer, currently
nicknamed 'Pok-a-roo'. She
will be trying to climb to the
top of Diaper Mountain.

which • has led to the
formation of a 'Cost
Management Committee'.

students to tour and orient
themselves to the school in
preparation for their transition

this reporter was able to sniff
out! Butyrric acid causes
butter to go rancid; when
mixed with amyl alcohol •an
ester is produced, called amyl

substance smells like bananas,
Mr. Butyrric Acid occupied
the hallways • and made
lunchtime a special event!

They say the it was gone at
10:30 p.m. when the owner
retumcd, after leaving the
house at 8 p.m. on Jan. 11.
The snowmobile is a
black/green ZR580 model, and
the registration number on the
hood is 780732 in orange/
yellow colour.

looking for a "Beer Store"
sign, missing from Clinton's
Brewer's Retail. It disappeared
"sometime between the 24th
and 27th of December". The
sign is 18" x 30", orange with
white letters saying "Beer
Store".
