r
RYAN: In loving memory of Paul
Raphael Ryan, who left us so
suddenly six years ago, December
29, 1989.
My life is but a weaving between
the Lord and me,
I may not choose the colors, He
knows what they should be,
For He can view the pattern upon
the upper side,
While I can see it only on this, the
underside,
Sometimes He weaves in sorrow,
which seems so strange to me,
But I will trust His judgement, and
work on faithfully;
'Tis He who fills the shuttle, and
He knows what is best,
So I shall weave in earnest,
leaving to Him the rest.
Not till the loom is silent and the
shuttles cease to fly,
Shall God unroll the canvas and
explain the reason why---
The'dark threads are as needed in
the weavers skillful hand,
As the threads of gold and silver
in the pattern He has planned.

Mitchell has
problem with
young offenders
Mitchell Mayor Hugh
McCaughey says he is "a-
stonished" at the number of
young offender complaints in
that town.
At the request of Mitchell's
police board, Chief Chuck Zehr
kept track of the number of
complaints attributed to young
offenders in November which
he reported as 18 of 46, or 18
of 20 if you subtract Highway
Traffic Act complaints. The
Chief said anywhere from 50
to 70 per cent of the criminal
complaints investigated so far
this year involved young of-
fenders.
Mayor McCaughey said he
would Tike to sec the names of
young offenders published in
the newspapers (prohibited by
the Young Offenders Act) so
parents know their childreh arc
causing trouble.
"We have to go hack and put
the fear into them," the Mayor
said.
