Greetings from Seaforth
Public School! With less than
a week until Christmas,
school . is slowly winding
down. Last week's concert,
held on Thursday, was a big
success. There should be a
production in the spring (like
'Alice in Wonderland' two
years ago or 'Oliver' four
years ago) but none of the.
students know what it is or
even if we are having one
still. The decision is in Mr.
Rideout' hands. Rumours
have spread indicating
'Beauty and the Beast', 'Peter
Pan', or even 'The Lion
King', possibly.
On the yard things have
been fairly quiet. We have a
new rule policy, developed by
Jason MacDonald and Amy
Shortreed, from Mr. McKay's
Grade 8 class, that deals with
rule infractions on the yard.
First offence is punishable by
two recesses by yourself, on
your own space on the wall.
Second offense is writing an
essay on safety on the yard
during lunchtime in Room 7.
In the spirit of peace
and joy we wish each
and every one of you
a season filled with
friendship, love and
contentment. Many
thanks for your kind
patronage.

Third offense is one day in
isolation from the rest of the
school. Fourth offense is a
phone call home, and possible
suspension. So far there- have
been numerous firsts, some
seconds, scattered thirds and
one or two fourths. First
offense, in my opinion, deters
nothing, as the kids just throw
snowballs at each other on
the wall. Perhaps a space by
themselves in the school, say,
one in the library, one in a
classroom, etc., or a space by
themselves in the library (it's
big " enough). We will be
initiating the Peacemakers
Programme on the school
yard in January.
Last day of school is on
Friday and Grades 5 and 6
skate at the arena from 9:30
to 10:30 that day, and Grades
7 and 8 from 10:30 to 11:30.
In the afternoon, Grades 6-8
will be watching 'Curse of
the Viking Grave', a follow-
up to 'Lost in the Barrens'.
School resumes Jan. 8. To all
readers, have a merry
Christmas and a happy New
Year!
