Sebringville OPP say in- cidents of impaired driving are up 53 per cent in the last two months for its patrol zone, compared to the same months in 1994. They add there has also been a 31 per cent increase in the total charges laid by the Perth detachment in the last six months, 101 to date this year compared to 76 by the end of November in 1994. The Goderich detachment says it laid 69 impaired driving charges in all of last year, compared to 49 so far this year. Goderich OPP adds its Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program is an ongoing thing, but the program will be beefed up as Campaign begins Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) recently formed a chapter in Huron and Bruce counties, and plans to launch a "red ribbon cam- paign" in this area at Goderich Friday. It is attempts to raise awareness of the problem of drunk driving and asks sup- porters to display MADD's distinctive red ribbon on their vehicles.
