Legion gears up
for annual
Remembrance
Day activities
Last Saturday afternoon the
entertainment and the draws
were well received by those
present. Watch for dates of
future events. Last Thursday
at the general meeting, three
new members were initiated
into the Branch.
Congratulations and welcome.
A donation of five large
Cribbage boards was made by
the Monday Cribbage players.
The schedule for the
Remembrance Day activities
is as follows: Saturday, Nov.
4, the Veterans Banquet
Social Hour 6-7pm. Dinner at
7pm, entertainment. As there
are to be special presentations
at this eyent, please get your
tickets as soon as possible.
The Ladies Auxiliary must
know how many to cater for.
Sunday, Nov.. 5 - Church
parade to Northside United
Church leaving the Legion at
10:45 am. After church a
light lunch will be served and
the Poppy Campaign will be
held. Lots of canvassers are
needed for this event so as to
be able to cover Seaforth,
Egmondville and Harpurhey.
Please tum out in uniform for
this event. If you don't have
a uniform, we still need you!
Saturday, Nov. 11 - Parade
to the cenotaph leaving the
Branch at 10:40 am.
R.epresentativ,es of
organizations presenting
wreaths, please pick them up
at the Branch prior to 10:40
am. After retuming to the
Branch, there will be
entertainment and meat
draws.
The Legion Poems, Essays,
and Poster contest is
underway. Entries have to be
in by Nov. 7. All school
children can enter. Contact
the schools for information.
There are good prizes to be
won 9j+1; this contest at Branch,
zone, district and provincial
levels. This is open to grade
schools and high school
students.
Are you an early -bird?
Dues can now be paid at the
Branch and the membership
committee.
At the going down of the
sun and in the morning we
will remember them.

Auxiliary to hold
annual bazaar
Senior Shuffleboard con-
tinues every Wednesday after-
noon from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m.
All seniors are welcome to
enjoy an afternoon of fun and
fellowship. Last weeks win-

The Seaforth Community
Hospital continues with their
monthly Perinatal Informa-
tion Sessions. Session 2 will
be held on Thursday, October
26, 1995 at 7:30 pm in Confer-
ence Room 2 of the Hospital.
The topic will be "Pain Man-
agement During Labour" with
Dr. H. Percival. Admission is
Free. For more information
call the Hospital at 527-1650.
The Seaforth Hospital Auxili-
• ary would like to invite every-
one to their annual BAZAAR
AND TEA. This event will be
held at the Hospital on Satur-
day, November 4 from 11:00
am to 3:00 pm.. Come check
out the Tea Room, Bake Table,
Crafts, Candy and Loonie
Tables. Door prizes will be
drawn. Come out and support
your local hospital,auxillary.
The Seaforth Hospital Auxili-
ary will also be hosting their
Tree of Lights event on
November 19. Tickets can be
purchased from any Auxiliary
member.
VAN EGMOND HOUSE - The Grade 6/7 class from St.
James School visited the Van Egmond Historial Site on
October 10. "Shown is Mrs. Williams, our tour guide, and
Nathan Marshall wearing a Sunday bonnet from the
1800's. Also students Danielle Vanden Hengel, Tracy
Lafromboise and Laura Devereaux enjoy the friendly site.
The class had a great time and hope to visit again."

will be the recipients of a
plaque presented by the
Lieutenant Governor of
Ontario, an Ontario Junior
Citizen of the Year lapel pin,
5200 and a family portrait
with the Lieutenant Governor.
'Clinforth' 4-H
Club does well
On Saturday, Oct. 14, four
Clinforth 4-H Dairy Calf
Club members represented
Huron County in regional
competition at the 4-H Go for
the Gold competition in
Stratford.
Ethan Wallace, Janet
Vanden Hoven, Barb Wynja
and Crista Vanden Hoven
won the right to compete
regionally when they placed
first at the Huron County
competition earlier this fall.
Competing counties in this
regional event were Huron,
Lambton, Middlesex, Oxford,
Perth, Waterloo and
Wellington. The four showed
their knowledge of 1995 4-H
projects against the five teams
during the day -long event,
finishing in second place with
the silver medal. Winning the
competition was the team
from Oxford County.

Wedding
Julie Anne Smith and Christopher Lawrence Babb
were united in marriage on July 29, 1995 at
Egmondville United Church. Rev. Cheryl -Ann
Stadelbauer Sampa officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mark and Mary Anne
Smith, Egmondville and the groom is the son of
Charles and Lorraine Babb, Carlingford.
The maid of honour was Sherri McLochlan, friend of
the bride. Bridesmaids were Niki Phillips, friend of the
bride; Tracey Scherbarth, sister of the groom and
Paula Babb, sister of the groom.
The best man was Joe Otten, friend of the groom.
Ushers were Chris Smith, brother of the bride; Mike
Scherbarth, brother-in-law of the groom; Perry Babb,
brother of the groom and David French, friend of the
groom.
Ann Otten was the organist and Paula Babb was the
pianist. Soloist was Tammy Bowden, friend of the
bride. Adam Babb, nephew of the groom was the
reader during the ceremony. The couple now reside in
Carlingford.
