DALE, Mr. Alynn Joseph, passed
away at Seaforth Manor on
October 13, 1995 in his 66th year.
Son of the late Ila Johnston and
Christopher Dale. Beloved father of
Vernon and wife Marilyn of
Seaforth, Donelda and her
husband John Flynn of Clinton,
and Gladwyn of Hamilton. Beloved
grandfather of 12 grandchildren, 23
great grandchildren and one great -
great grandson. Fondly
remembered by several sisters -In-
law and brothers-in-law. He was
predeceased by his wife Nellie
Laycox and one son Eugene, two
brothers Walter and Melvin and
one sister Evelyn Vanderburg.
Family received friends at the
Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home on
Sunday from 7-9 p.m. Mass of the
Christian Burial was celebrated at
St. James Roman Catholic Church,
Monday, October 16, 1995 at 11
a.m. Interment St. James
Cemetery. Pallbearers were
Alynn's six grandsons, Doug and
Darrell Dale, Rick and Bill Dale
and Frank and Ray Flynn. Flower

DALE, Mr. William Johnson, of
Seaforth, in his 86th year, passed
away on Sunday, October 8, 1995
at Seaforth Manor Nursing Home.
Born in Hullett Township August
28, 1910, he was the youngest son
of James Dale and Mary (Dodds).
Survived by his wife Marjorie
(McMichael) and five daughters,
Laurel and Ken Wilson, Goderich;
Wilma and Murray Scott, Belgrave;
Deanna and Harvey Snell, Blyth;
Kathy and Jack Baker, Fergus and
Cheryl and Doug Phillips, Seaforth;
fifteen grandchildren and six great-
grandchildren. Also survived by
one brother J. Arnold Dale, Clinton.
Predeceased by one brother C.
Verne Dale, and one sister Thelma
Bromley. Funeral service at
Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home was
held Wednesday, Oct. 11 with Rev.
Jim Sloan, First Presbyterian
Church officiating. Flower bearers
were granddaughters Julie and
Jenny Lee Phillips. Pallbearers
were grandsons, Bill Glousher,
Shane Snell, Scott Hoegy, Jeff
Scott, Graham Glousher and
Steven Phillips. A guard of honor
was formed by Past Wardens of
Huron County, Alex Alexander,
Don McKenzie, Doug McNeil, Jim
Hayter, all of Goderich, and Harold
Robinson of Gorrie. Bill always
enjoyed meeting the public and as
a young man went to Toronto
where he was employed at Toronto
Dominion Bank for six years.
Retuming to Hullett to farm, he
became involved with and held
office in many organizations,
Clinton Lions Club, Federation of
Agriculture, local Fair Boards,
Huron County Board of Education,
Ont. Horse Breeders Assoc.,
Hutton Township Council, Reeve of
Hullett and Warden of Huron in
1954. He showed Clydesdale
horses and later Guernsey dairy
cattle, wherever there was a fair.
He was a well known Judge of
horses and judged at the C.N.E.
twice. The Century Dale farm
homestead was sold in 1973.
Living in Seaforth, Bill served on
Seaforth Town Council as Deputy
Reeve and Reeve from 1975-1982,
and was Chairman of Community
Relations on the Maitland Valley
Conservation Authority. He had
been a Past Master of Hullett
Masonic Lodge AF & AM No. 568
and a member for 52 years.
Interment was in Maitland Bank
