On the last weekend in September, The Huron Society of Artists welcomes everyone to "their third annual Studio Tour, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. To get a glimpse of the rich diversity in our area studio - workshops, you can chat with the artists, get a start on Wildlife hike chance to see Bannockburn Nature really shows its stuff in October during the Bannockburn Fall Hike on Sunday, Oct. 1 at - the Bannockburn Wildlike Area. From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Ausable-Bayfield Conservation Authority (ABCA) staff will be at points of interest along the nature trails to identify the changes that are happening in the many ecosystems. Staff will also highlight the changes that have taken place over the 22 years since the Authority purchased the .property. When you finish your hike you'll be treated to hot or cold apple cider. Please bring your own mug so that we can make this a litterless hike Last year, over 300 people attended the hike. Bannockburn Wildlife Area is a 60 -acre _ parcel of land . in Stanley Township. Since the Authority bought the land in 1973, they have been improving the land for a wide variety of wildlife. The Bannockburn Wildlife Area is located two kilometres north of Huron County Road #3, between Varna and Brucefield in Stanley Township. Call the ABCA. at 519-235-2610 for further information. New network meets soon Computer network buffs in Seaforth and area might wish to attend a meeting of the HOMEtown Community Net- work tomorrow night (Thursday) at Clinton. HOMEtown's Larry Dillon, of Harpurhey, says it is for members or anyone interested in networks. He is the executive director of the non- profit community corn- munication and information networking system. "We are now in the process of installing telephone lines in Huron County," he says. "I hope to have the lines tested and to be able to able to an- nounce a local access number on Sept. 28 in time for the meeting." It is at Clinton office of the Ontario Ministry of Agricul- ture, Food and Rural Affairs tonight at 7:30 p.m. Queensway Volunteers appreciated Queensway Nursing Home residents welcomed the Hensall Presbyterian women Monday afternoon as they led a bingo. We appreciate these women providing a bingo each afternoon in September. Rev. Verhoog led the worship service Tuesday afternoon. The sermon was great and the residents appreciated the compliments on their good singling. Thank you also to the pianist. Winnie Hutton, volunteer chaplain, was also in one day this week to provide her pastoral care to several residents. Kay Mock, Auxiliary member, presented a very informative session at the International Day featuring Alaska. Kay recently took an Alaskan Cruise. Everyone found her video very interesting.. Cold -d -d -d icecream seemed an appropriate shack, when Baked Alaskan wasn't an option. One-to-one visitation using music and reading was a relaxing end to the week for many residents. Ron and Bev Walker's neighbouring 'Weedy Acres' studio features Ron's figurative imagery in various media and fabric creations by Bev.
