Town sets up accord so truckers won't park on streets
Seaforth has prepared an
agreement for truckers in
Seaforth, Egmondville and
Harpurhey who prefer to park
their rigs on municipal property
rather than local streets.
"The agreement will be ac-
companied with a plan out-
lining the individual parking
space which will be one of the
available six," minutes of the
Sept. 5 meeting of the transpor-
tation and environment com-
mittee state.
The agreement also states "no
maintenance of vehicles and
the owner and/or driver is
responsible to maintain their
individual parking space. The
parking fee will be $100 yearly
or $15 per month."
The committee has been in
touch with the Seaforth Public
Utility Commission about
having a light installed for
security, and the Works
Department has ordered two
signs stating "Parking by
Municipal Permit Only".
