WI has booth at fair
The Seaforth Women's
Institute held its meeting on
Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. at the home
of Viola Lawson. Viola opened
the meeting, with a reading,
'Flour sack underwear'.
Opening ode was 'Mary
Stewart Collect'.
Roll call was answered by
fifteen members and two
guests. Minutes of the last
meeting were given by Helen
MacKenzie. Treasurer's report
was also given by Helen
MacKenzie. Thank you cards
came from Lillian Pepper and
Sarah Elliou. The Fall Rally is
Oct. 16, and the Gorrie Area
Convention is Oct 20 in
Kirkton.
The Seaforth Women's
Institute will have a booth at
the fair. The farm tour is Oct.
15. Viola Lawson introduced
the guest speaker, Shaukat
Mangalji. He gave some
important points about our
health today. Olive Papple
presented the speaker with a
gift.

hostesses, Gladys Doig,
Marjorie Rock, and Grace
Scott.
Next meeting takes place at
Market Street Senior Apt. Oct
10 at 1:30 p.m.
Not worth it
Seaforth Council has decided
it doesn't want to consider
negotiating agreement with the
local railroad to leave the Jar-
vis Street detour in place, but
subject to tight controls, in case
of emergency.
Councillors decided if the
Main Street crossing was
blocked it would still be quick-
er for emergency vehicles to
detour around outlying conces-
sions than any procedure to
nnen the Jarvis Street route.
