THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Do it tomorrow - you've
made enough mistakes today!
Meet the teacher night
Walton Public School held its
'meet the teacher night' last
week starting off with hot dogs
and refreshments. On view was
the proposed plan for the
addition of a general purpose
room on the school. The
teachers enjoyed meeting many
Walton -area families. Children
spent time showing their
parents their classrooms.
Friday was the Terry Fox run
at the school and all children
and teachers participated.
Money raised for the event will
go to the Brussels Cancer
Fund.
Balloons outside the Walton
Hall beckoned eighteen
children inside on Friday after
school. The occasion was
Nicholas and James Durrell's
birthday party. The group
enjoyed party games and
helped the two brothers eat up
the 'gummy bear' birthday
cake.
Doug and Marjory Fraser
were greeters at Duff's United
on Sept. 17. Sarah McDonald
started the service off by
lighting the Christ Candle.
After the Call to Worship and
the singing of 'Joyful Joyful',
Rev. Randy Banks announced
that there will no service at
Duff's next Sunday due to
Walton
by Patty Banks
` 887-6860
Blucvale holding their
Anniversary service. Their
service will start at 11:00 with
guest speaker Rev. Bonnie
Cole Arnat. Everyone is invited
to attend.
Oct. 1 is World Wide
Communion and Oct. 8 is
Baptism Sunday.
JoAnn McDonald came
forward to read the Board
Minutes. Patty Banks
announced that the Sunday
School pupils have a prayer
wall downstairs and if anyone
wished to add either their
names or names of other
people in need of prayer to let
the children or teachers know.
Rev. Banks called the
children forward and asked if
any of them had ever done
anything wrong. Several hands
went up. He then asked them
how they knew it was wrong.
Rev. Banks named four or five
things that some people do that
is wrong and then went on to
say that it was called 'sin'.
