HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Huron Expositor, 1995-07-19, Page 13GREGOR CAMPBELL PHOTO CANADIAN CHAMPION - Carol Ann McQuaid of Main Street South in Seaforth won the Canadian Open Step - Dancing title in competition at Dundalk at the end of June. The musically talented 21 -year-old, who is a student at both the University of Toronto and the University of Western Ontario, says she has been step -dancing since she was three and this is her greatest accomplishment -so far. Last year she 'finished fourth at the Canadian championship. Carol Ann says they make her practise in the basement of her residence at the U of T because others can't con- centrate. Carol Ann also has two musically accomplished sisters, neither of whom stayed with step -dancing long enough to win the Canadian title. She is also a lifeguard at the local pool. Golf tourney approaches The annual Seaforth Legion Branch 156 golf toumament is being held on Saturday, July 22. Play starts at 10 a.m. The Ladies' Auxiliary is holding a Sunday dinner for the public on Sunday, July 23 at 4:30. Desserts and help would be appreciated by the committee women. The Homecoming' 95 weekend is coming up fast. Tickets for the Friday night Gusd family show and the Sunday dinner are available at the Branch. This will be a very busy time for everyone. If you can help at any of the events please contact the committees in charge. Friday, July 21 at 7 p.m. a Fun Lawn Bowling Night is being held. All Legion and Seaforth Legion by Barbara Scott Auxiliary members are welcome. Please wear flat shoes. The new sign for the Legion is being installed this week. This sign is a gift from the Auxiliary to the Branch in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the end of World War II. Hope you are all have a good summer despite the humid weather. Mus., formerly of Dublin, who received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Music Education at the Spring 1995 Commencement Exercises at New York University. Dr. Horan serves as Academic Advisor, Adjunct Professor of Music Theory, and Co- ordinator of Undergraduate Studies at the Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions, School and Education at New York University.
