by JEAN ROSS
It's beginning to looklike
party -time!
Garry Osborn had a 'sewing
bee' with - his decorating com-
mittee and you can see the
results as you approach down-
town flags flying and the
streamers shimmering in the
sun and wind. There are still a
few flags and streamers for
sale at Homecoming Headquar
ters for anyone who would also
like to get in the party mood.
Don't forget to get out the
Christmas, tree lights. We want
t
to give our `homecomers' a
cheery welcome.
The local churches are join-
ing in the festivities. On Satur-
day, August 5, St. Thomas
Anglican is hosting open house

taking part in the community
church service at the commun-

byterian will open their doors
for a time of memories with
former members of their con-
gregations. The Northside
United Church women are
going to be busy preparing
their pork barbecue for the
evening meal with the For-
esters.
Everyone should shine up

will be toe -tapping music at the
Legion (parking lot and tent)

requesting anyone who
registered (so far there hav
been 1347) to pick up their
name tags on Thursday, even-
ing August 3 to avoid conges-
tion in the Headquarters on the
weekend. If you are planning
to register, please db it now.
Check at Dave Stewart's store
when you go to pick up your
name tag. There are rumours
we may be moving the head-
quarters down there for Home-
coming weekend. What did we.
do for space before Dave
closed the store?
There will be book sale at the
Library during the Home-
coming.
The craft and flea market
organizers have Victoria Park
laid out for the vendors' sites.
Drop by the store and get your
site now.
We have one empty chair at
our committee table, and we're
missing Jim Sills' expertise.
Get well soon Jim, so you can
enjoy the homecoming.
I wonder how many women
are looking forward to seeing
the beards shaved off by our
Seaforth hairdressers at the
opening ceremonies?
