Dan and Rhonda Nolan and family and Joe and Helen Nolan visited on Sunday with Gail and Gary Sararas of Exeter for their 21st wedding anniversary. Forty-two descendants of the late Daniel and Bridget Cronin attended the tenth annual family reunion on Saturday, July 8 at the Dublin Pavilion. Families attending were from St. Columban, Seaforth, St. Columban by Cecilia Ryan 345-2028 Mitchell, Mississauga, Fergus and Kitchener. A potluck supper and lots of visiting were enjoyed by all. Winner of the door prize was Ann Henderson. Kids prizes were won by Alex Carruthers, Janis Regier, - Danny Regier, Gary Cronin, Lisa . Cronin, Caitlan Black, Briget Cronin, and Christopher Cronin. Draw winners were Gordon Cronin, Jennifer Regier and Gordon Cronin. Guessing games were won by Stephen Cronin and Qordon Cronin„ A bridal shower was held on Sunday afternoon at the St. Columban Church hall for Louise Ryan of Cambridge, formerly of St. Columban. The• shower was hosted by Laura Ward and Darlene Murray. Louise thanked everyone for all the lovely gifts she received and _a lunch was served by Laura and Darlene. Louise, whose marriage to BreU Bailey of Cambridge, will take place at SL Gregory Roman Catholic Church, Cambridge on Friday, evening August 11, 1995. Sister Jean Molyan of Windsor is visiting with Mary Moylan at the Ritz Lutheran Villa, Mitchell. Two very special birthdays Two very special Dublin people celebrated birthdays last week. Margaret • Looby celebrated her 65th birthday with family, relatives and close friends. On Friday night, her family hosted a surprise party at her home for 45 relatives. Her sister, Bernice Looby, had a dinner party on Sunday evening for 25 people. Margaret as a long-time neighbour and friend, I am joined by many, many people who wish you a happy birthday and many good years ahead! Congratulations to Peter and Homecoming decorating committee has sewing bee by JEAN ROSS It's beginning to looklike party -time! Garry Osborn had a 'sewing bee' with - his decorating com- mittee and you can see the results as you approach down- town flags flying and the streamers shimmering in the sun and wind. There are still a few flags and streamers for sale at Homecoming Headquar ters for anyone who would also like to get in the party mood. Don't forget to get out the Christmas, tree lights. We want t to give our `homecomers' a cheery welcome. The local churches are join- ing in the festivities. On Satur- day, August 5, St. Thomas Anglican is hosting open house and a tour of the church from 12 - 5 p.m. All churches are taking part in the community church service at the commun- ity centre at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 6. Aftcr the community church service St. James Catholic and First Pres- byterian will open their doors for a time of memories with former members of their con- gregations. The Northside United Church women are going to be busy preparing their pork barbecue for the evening meal with the For- esters. Everyone should shine up their dancing shoes. There are no shortages of dances. Friday, August 5 there is a street dance on Govinlock Street and there will be toe -tapping music at the Legion (parking lot and tent) by the Gus4 family. On Satur- day, (August 5) night the Har- mony Kings are having a Big Band Dance (Royalaires) at the Community Centre, and the Agriculture Society is having a' 50s - 60s dance (`Eddie and the Edsels') at the agricultural building. Our young people sea jo Y/r Vii• /)r.c(rict ifomecom will be dancing to. There's a pre -teen dance on Friday, August 4 from 8 p.m. - 11 at the community centre (auditor- ium). This dance is for Grade 6, 7, 8 kids. On Saturday, August 5 the Student Council is having a 'Homecoming Bash' at the community centre (auditorium) from 9 p.m. - 1• for anyone of high school age or older. It's $5 a person, non alcoholic bar. Ken and Lois Moore are requesting anyone who registered (so far there hav been 1347) to pick up their name tags on Thursday, even- ing August 3 to avoid conges- tion in the Headquarters on the weekend. If you are planning to register, please db it now. Check at Dave Stewart's store when you go to pick up your name tag. There are rumours we may be moving the head- quarters down there for Home- coming weekend. What did we. do for space before Dave closed the store? There will be book sale at the Library during the Home- coming. The craft and flea market organizers have Victoria Park laid out for the vendors' sites. Drop by the store and get your site now. We have one empty chair at our committee table, and we're missing Jim Sills' expertise. Get well soon Jim, so you can enjoy the homecoming. Thieves hit Brussels -area home Thieves broke into a resi- dence at Concession 5, Morris Township, RR 4 Brussels, and removed several items. Items taken included a partner chainsaw model. S-50 yellow and black, Coleman lantern, kerosene lantern and a blue Coleman metal cooler. The theft occurred on June 25 or 26.
