There passed away at. her`:hoiue
here on Saturday evening, Mrs.
Cooper •.Forrest aged 85 years. Mrs.
Forrest has been an invalid for a`
number of years and while seated
itit .the supper table on •Saturday
evening passed away suddenly. Mrs.
Fol resat with her • husband, the late
Cooper Forrest, lived for years on
the farm` now 'owned by their - son
John on the Pari Line, Stanley and
some years .ago moved to Hensall.`
The late. Mr. Forrest predeceased
her some 15 years ago: The funeral
which was private was, held Tuesday
afternoon, interment in Hensall
Union 'Cemetery.

The ' Trustees of the Hensall
schools have put in new black boards
in each room, adding greatly to the
efficiency of the schools.

are. open for motor traffic, but the

East. of Hensall have some.snow on
them yet.
A play entitled • `"Bashful Mr.
Robbs" will be given in the town
hall here on' Friday, March 6tli, by
the young 'people of.Thames Road.
It promises to be a 'real treat so
don't miss it.

Mrs. Gilbert Carter, widow,' at
former resident of Clandeboye. who
died' at her brother's home in Park-
hill, was interred at the Nursery
cemetery, Mooresville on February
17th. She' is.- survived by a .son,
Thomas, living in the Yukon`:. A
stepson, Frank „Carter, lives . at
Brantford. Mrs. Carter had `ana•ny
near'' relatives in. this locality and
numerous friends.
The 'congregation of St. James
church held an enjoyable'and suc-
cesful box social on Friday at the
home of Alex. O'Neil, and conces-
sion, McGillivray. The boxes were
spld on a flat. rate, and though' a
very liberal supply was` provided
many more could have been sold.
At the •close of . -the ;social, games,•
cards' and dancing were enjoyed.
The proceeds .of the evening will be
applied to the church funds.
Mr. Kenneth Carter spent the
week -end in the city.
Miss Emily Simpson is visiting in
Ailsa Craig.
Mr. Ashworth shipped a car ,of
potatoes to London on Friday.

A hen owned by a poultry farmer

home of Mr. Thomas Bell on Mon-
day evening of last week.
The W.M.S. are making, several

quite ill at the home of his son
Anson at Farquhar.
Mrs. Thos. Hodgert and two
children of Seaforth visited her sis-
ter, Mrs. Bruce Cooper last week.
The social held in the town hall
on Monday evening 'was well at-

her 150 -acre farm to Wm. Hodg-
ins, of 'the 12th Con. McGillivary,

Fanson on Tuesday ,evening. When

class and The Wide -Awake class
were entertained by their teachers

evening wasspent in contests, games'
arid music.
'Mr. Frank ,Routley who has been
suffering from an. attack of the La
Grippe is slightly improved.
GRAND BEND
Mr.. and Mrs. John Baird, •vrho
have been. in Crediton for the past
three' weeks owing to the illness of
their son, David, returned home on
Saturday. Their son accompanied
them, he .having undergone an op-
eration for appenticitis at the home
of Mr. 'Kerr while in Crediton. He
is now improving nicely.
Mr. John Devine is at present on
the sick list, suffering from an at-
tack' of heart trouble.
Mr. Calvin N.,, Wilson, who has
been ill for some .time is now con-
fined to his bed most of the time,
with no hope of recovery.
The ice on the lake' has gone out
and the fishermen gathered in their
nets last week.
Mrs. Wilbur Dewey, who has been..
visiting her parents at St. Joseph're-
turned to her home here last week.
Mrs. Wm. Patterson has gone to
.Sarnia for a few -weeks' visit.
