VALEDICTORY ADDRESS

ST. JAMES SCHOOL
11 is with joy as well as
regret that 1 recite this
speech to you tonight. ' cry
that we've succc;slutly
completed nine years of
education and made many
strong friendships in the
process. I also have some
feelings of regret to sec such
an enthusiastic, positive group
of people 'go in different
directions.
Mr. McCarroll has played a
- large part in making this year
wonderful. He. has given us
unending patience,
understanding and dedication:
throughout -the whole year and
he has prepared us for greater
challenges in life. He's
enhanced our self-discipline
and respect. He's taught us
more than Math, History,
English and Science; he's
taught us to live life. We arc
very fortunate to have had him
for our teacher this year.
Mr. McDade's influence for
the past two. years has had a
positive impact on all of the
students. He is -not only a great.
leader, but he has shared his
Christian values with ..us each
day. He, along with all the
other teachers, have made St.
James an exciting place to bc.,
• Father Hardy has impacted
on us tremendously throughout
his first year with St. James
Parish and St. James School:
He's given us stronger faith
and strengthened our
spirituality. Thank you for your
prayers and concern.. Please
continue to pray for us as we
begin a new journey in lift.
Our prayers are always with
you.
Parents and Families
I think all of my classmates
will agree that we owe much
of our appreciation to our
parents. They have guided us
tothis point in our lives and
have shown unconditional love -
and support throughout our
times of happiness and sorrow.
This is a time for mixed
feelings and emotions for them
too. There- is a realization that
their children are growing up.
They see us moving from .the
secure, comfortable halls of Si.
James to a place where we
become- mature, responsible
adults. With the unconditional
love and support they've shown
us, I'm sure we'll be well
prepared to accept the
challenges of high school that
lie ahead. -
What St. James Has
Meant to Me
The '95 graduates will surely
miss Si James School. The
corridors of St. James hold
many memories. From the time -
most of us started Kindergarten
here in September '86 to.now,
June '95. Has it really been
nine years?, Many of us have
learned -lessons, morals and
built strong characters here at
St. James, a small school
where everyone knows your
name. We've had great
opportunities, whether it be in
drama, music, art, phys. ed and
not to mention, a great
education. St. James has been a
fantastic school to attend.
I would now like to share
some of my thoughts about my
friends and fellow graduates.
I'm sure we'll all remember:
"Randy" Becker for his
unusual sense of humour,
Lorraine Blake for her good
nature and compassion; Matt
Craig, who's everyone's friend;
Natalie Dale, remembered by
her entertaining personality;
Stephanie Dale for being a
good listener Tim Devereaux
for his caring; Claire Eckert for
her great attitude; Melissa Etue
for her kindness towards other
people; Brock Hardie and his
love of sardines; Becky
Holmes who's a great friend
and good listener; Rob Janmaat
for his ability . to make
everyone laugh; Tricia Jansen
for her constant spirit; Danielle
Kistner for her giving attitude;
Andrea Longstaff for her
caring and love of life; Pattie
Moran for her kindness and
sincerity; Nicole Munro for her
thoughtfulness; Steve Phillips
for his great outlook on life;
Ryan Van Dooren for his
bright smile; Ben Vanden
Hengel for being such a
sensitive person; Crista Vanden
Hoven for her quiet nature and
great acting ability and Tara
Dale for her keen wit.
As we go our separate ways
I'll keep these thoughts with
me always. Now as we move
on to high school we will not
forget the fun times we've had
here as a class at St. James.
Some advice as I conclude:
'Never underestimate the
wonderful things you are
capable of...the impact of
your dreams, your uniqueness
and all you have to offer.
Never underestimate the
special person you are or
• what you can become.'
Best Wishes to you and Good
Luck in the future.
Thank you!

SEAFORTH PUBLIC
SCHOOL
Teachers, parents and fellow
classmates. Is • today fust
another day in June, another
day in the year of 1995, or just
another moment in the history
of Seaforth Public School?
Today is a time for us, the
graduating class, to say good-
bye. It's time for us to move
on. In September we will all be
attending a ncw school, creat-
ing new friendships and taking
separate paths.
. Before we go we would like
to take this moment to thank
our parents and teachers for
their continued support
throughout these past nine
years. You were always there
to give us advice, when
needed, confidence when we
felt insecure and encourage -
Congratulations

difficult times.
Looking back over the ycars,
you wonder where the time has
gone. It seems -like yesterday
when we started kindergarten.
Some of us .in Walton and
others in Seaforth. Four ycars
quickly passed by. It was time
for 19 of the grade three
Walton Students to move on to
BIGGER and better things. It
didn't take us long to feel
comfortable in our ncw school.
Meeting all new teachers and
newly -found friends.
As we leave Seaforth Public
we will be taking with us many
great memories and hopefully
we have left some lasting
impressions on our teachers as
well as the younger students.
Being the senior students we
have been taught to give
leadership and to set good
examples. I just hope that too

many people have not been too
disappointed.
What lies ahead of us -- we
don't know. Today we aren't
really thinking of that. Our
thoughts go to what we will be
leaving behind us, such as our
teachers.
We will always remember
our educational outings with
Mr. Millson. And yes, Mr.
Millson, I must agree leeches
do have a taste for the finer
things in life!
Mr. Lyon, I'm sure someday
we will sec your fine works of
art displayed in the best gal-
leries of the world. •
And if any of us should make
it to the Olympics we will have
to give all the credit to Mrs. R.
for she has spent many hours
trying to improve our athletic
skills.
Mme. Holmes, the one who
has taught us how frustrating

French can be. But also how
enjoyable • when taking the
majority of the senior students

Mrs. Griffin, it was great to
be a part of your musical pro-
duction 'Alice in Wonderland.'
"You might just as well say
that I breathe when I sleep is
the same thing as I sleep when

Last, but certainly not least,
our principal Mr. Tremeer. A
big thank you for being here
when needed and taking the
time to show that you care.
There are many more teachers
who have touched our lives
here at Seaforth, but time does
not allow me to mention every-
one. You have all been great
and we will miss your smiling
faces as we walk down the
halls of tomorrow.

other great changes. We will
make other friends, go our

different careers but I'm sure
the memories of Seaforth Pub-

friends will not be forgotten.
We will take one final look
as we leave today, anxious for
the future, but not wanting to
go away. We may forget a lot
of things, but clearly we will
