W. T. Gemmell and Hector
Elliott of Egmondvillc, have
returned from a six-month drill
at the Ottawa Model School,
bringing success and honours
with them.
A brilliant and successful
garden party was held at the
residence of Mr. Robert Hol-
land, of Walton, on Wednesday
of last week. Among those on
the program were Miss Emma
Pollard, Miss Ruth Jones and
Miss Doris Kinney. Miss Alice
Dundas and Miss Mamie
McEwan sang twice and Mas-
ters Morrison and Shobbrook
also rendered a number of
selections on the mouth organ.
Mr. Jacob McGee, of
Egmondville, has a pear tree in
his garden in full bloom for the
second time this season.

Louis Reinke, of
Egmondville, was off-duty as a
result of having his hand cut
with the broken glass of a
cellar window.

The roof of Turner's Church,
which was damaged by wind
last fall, was repaired and the
church was opened for service.
Miss Mcllis or Kippen has
been re-engaged to teach in the
Mill Road School at a salary of
$1,0(X).
John Ferguson of Constance
had a very successful barn
raising last week and when
completed he will have first
class bitildings.
Alfred Clark, a returned
soldier of Hensall, was recently
honoured by being made Dis-
trict Deputy Grand Master for

Francis Kenny Moylan,
S.F.M., McKillop Township,
was ordained to thc priesthood
at St. Alphonsus Seminary
Chapel, Woodstock, on Sun-
day, June 17th, by Most Rev.
John T. Kidd, Bishop of Lon-
don. Rev. Francis Moylan is
the youngest son of Thomas
Moylan and the late Mrs.
Moylan, McKillop Twp., and
will celebrate his first Solemn
High Mass at St. Columban
Church on Sunday, June 24th.

Dr. Foster Harburn, who has
been conducting a veterinary
practice in Scaforth for the past
42 years, has disposed of his
practice to Dr. John 0.
Tumbull, a native of Grey
Township, and recently of the
City of Toronto. Dr. Turnbull
has also purchased the Harbum
residence.
Miss Jean Smale, bride -elect
of next week, was honoured on
Wednesday evening by her
many friends at the Royal
Apartments.

Mr. Lloyd B. Morrison has
been chosen as science teacher
for the Seaforth High School in
place of Mr: I. H. Weedmark.
Mr. Morrison was formerly on
the staff of the Vaughan Road
Collegiate, Toronto and for the
past three years had been on
the mcterological department in
connection with the R.C.A.F.,
being stationed in Manitoba
and later at Camp Borden. He
will receive his release in
August from the R.C.A.F.
The frame residence on John
St., owned by Mrs. F. G.
Livingston, has been sold to
Mrs. Bertha M. Box, who gets
possession July 1st.

That there are still plenty of
game fish in this district, if you
know where to look and how
to catch them, was demon-
strated on Monday by Scott
Hawthorne, when he brought
into town a Brown Trout,
measuring 251/2 inches long,
and weighing 61bs., 14 ounces.
It was a beauty and establishes
a record for the species for this
district.

The Seaforth Creamery was
entered at about 4:30 a.m., the
thieves gaining entry by forcing
the front door of the building
and then the office door.

McLean, of Egmondville, were
in Scarboro recently attending
the wedding of Hume Milroy,
son of Rev. J. E. Milroy, for-
merly of Egmondville.
The staff of Keating's .Phar-
macy, including Mrs. D. A.
Hoover, Mrs. W. C. Bennett,
Mrs. Ronald Bennett and Mrs.
Don Brightrall attended a cos-
metic school in London on
Wednesday.

Mrs. Leslie Pepper of
McKillop has returned from
Guelph where she graduated as
a Food Supervisor and will
resume her position at Seaforth
Community Hospital.
