Students at Seaforth District High School spent an afternoon last week doing the most outrageous things they could think of - such as passing peanut but- ter between noses and flying down a wet banana slide. They were doing this to intel- lectually prepare themselves for the future demands of, the increasingly competitive workplace in the modem world. Well, maybe not. It was a fun event to promote participation as part of fit- ness week. They called it "MOGA Madness". THE HURON EXPOSITOR, Juno 14, 1995-9 Students make mess Students at Seaforth District High School spent a sunny afternoon last Thursday making a big mess. They made a good job of it, with creative activities such as - a" nut butter nose pass, "barfrelay, banana slide, water balloon toss, water bal- loon volleyball and tom puff eating contest. And there were no detention because of absentees. Nobody skipped these classes, the event featured almost 100 per cent attendance. It was called "MOGA Mad- ness". The acronym stands for Most Outrageous Group Ac - St. Columban 4-H achievement night BY BRAD MURRAY The 4-H members of St. Columban will be holding their achievement night on June 15 at 7:30 p.m. Mem- bers of 'Let's Landscape' arc asked to remember to take a `before and after' picture of their garden. Also they arc to remember to practise what they are doing for achievement night. Car door is smashed A cab door was smashed out of a Deutz tractor and a rear window was smashed on a terragator while they were sitting at Thompson Mills in Hensall. The damage was approximately $700 and occurred on May 18, 1995. The fun afternoon was a project of teacher Terry Johnson's Grade 12 leadership development class. Students Jill Wood, Kim Diegel, Laura McKerchcr and Tracy Janmaat dreamed up the idea for messy events that would appeal to classmates. Judging by the high turnout, the organizers were on the right wavelength. Sixteen teams representing each home room at the local high school took part.
