Tender accepted
Hulleu Council accepted two
Targe tenders at its regular
meeting May 16. A tender for
$99,992.50 for a 55,000 GVW
tandem cab and chassis truck
from the Bluewater Truck
Centre was accepted, as was a
tender of $57,635.70 for the
supply and installation of snow
plowing apparatus and a dual
purpose combination dump box
and sand/salt spreader from
Viking Ceves Ltd. Both major
tenders are subject to approval
from the provincial transpor-
tation ministry.
Hulieu Council passed a
motion at its May 16 meeting
to notify Blyth that the
township intends to withdraw
from the Arena Board
Agreement as of December 31
"should those members ap-
pointed fail to attend scheduled
meetings in their appointed
capacity".
At its regular meeting May
16, Hulieu Council passed a
bylaw changing the zoning on
part Lot 23, Concession 10 in
the township to "agriculture
small holding" and "restricted
agriculture - special provisions"
from "general agriculture" and
simply "restricted agriculture".

TOP EARNERS - Robb Williams and Anita Pickett raised
the most money for the Seaforth and District Yuuth Group
Wheel-a-thon' on Saturday. Robb raised $80 and Anita
raised $73. The event raised $470 towards the drop-in
centre project.
Lawn bowlers start season
The Seaforth Lawn Bowling
Club officially started its 1995
season on Monday, May 22
with ideal weather. Six greens
were in play in the afternoon
followed by a potluck supper at
5:30 p.m. with hostesses
Thelma Coombs, Grace
Broadfoot and Beatrice Stoll.
More than 30 members were
present and following supper
euchre was played in the club
house. Some also participated
in lawn bowling. Winners for
the afternoon mixed jitney
were: Ladies - 1st - Betty
Tilley; 2nd - Rika Van Bakel.
For the Men it was 1st - Pat
Flannagan; 2nd - Lee Ryan.
Prizes for the euchre went to
the following: ladies high -
Gladys Doig; Ione hands -
Mary McClure; consolation -
Viola Taylor; mens high -
Phillip Thomas; Lone hands -
Sam McClure; Consolation -
Oliver Pryce. The next social
and potluck supper will be held
on June 27 at 6 p.m. and
hostess will be Edna and Neil
Bell and Beatrice Stoll. Three
Seaforth teams were in Clinton
on Saturday for their first
tournament. Jack and Marie
Muir were high two game
winners while Art Finlayson
and Brenda Empey won the
consolation prize.
Sunday June 4 at 10 a.m. will
see the first stage of the prov-
incial ladies and men's fours
for the district being played at
the Seaforth Greens.
Thursday, June 1 will be
ladies pairs in Exctcr while on
Wednesday May 31st ..ill be
mens pairs in St. Marys.
The Seaforth Lawn Bowling
Club always welcomes new
bowlers and for the month of
June will be free bowling to
new bowlers. Bowling times
are Monday 1:30 p.m. and 7
p.m., Tuesday 7 p.m. Thursday
- 7 p.m. and Friday - 1:30 p.m.
Bowls are available to try at
the club house, just remembei
to wear flat -soled shoes.

The Huron County Health Unit has become aware that
cheese from an unlicensed source may be offered for sale In
Huron County and other areas of the London region.
This ready to eat food product may contain high levels of
bacteria rendering it unfit for human consumption. These
cheese products may be offered for sale under the following
product description from vendors:
1. Crema Los Tres Hermanos. a white creamy
cheese in a 500 mL clear plastic container with a
snap on lid. may not be labeled.
2. Cheese white in colour, similar to dry cottage
cheese in a beige -brown coloured "take-out"
Styrofoam container, wrapped in cellophane.
3. Block cheese (hard, white cheese) crumbles
easily, wrapped in clear cellophane or clear
plastic bags.
This notice is to alert the public not to purchase or
consume any cheese products fitting the above -noted
description and to contact the Huron County Health
Unit, Public Health Inspection Department at (519) 482-

and/or purchased these food products.
