Seaforth gets
Summer Active
Summer is rapidly approach-
ing and with it Summer Active
'95. This Canada -wide program
promotes the benefits of reg-
ular physical activity and
encourages Canadians,
especially those who are inac-
tive, regardless of age, ability,
or gender to choose an active,
healthy lifestyle. I encourage
you or your organization to
participate in the celebration of
physical activities. You will not
be alone, the entire County of
Huron will be buzzing with
activity between May 15 - 31.
So join in and get active.
Seaforth's events will be as
follows:
May 27 - Youth Group's
Wheel-a-thon from 10:00 am to
2:00 pm at the Optimist Hall.
May 28 - Kite Making and
Flying beginning at 12 noon at
the Arena. Admission is $4 for
the Kites. PLEASE PRE -REG-
ISTER FOR THIS EVENT BY
CALLING 527-0882.
June 1 - Fitness is Fun Open
House. The public is welcome
to come check out the Fitness
programs offered at the Arena.
The Open house is from 9:30
to 10:30 a.m. with refreshments
available.
June 7 - Dance for lleart at the
Arena 7 - 10 p.m.
Prizes will be available at all
events.

The Annual Dancc for Heart
will be held once again at the
Seaforth and District Commun-
ity Centres on June 7 from
7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Come enjoy
aerobics, line dancing and be
prepared to have fun. Pledge
sheets are available at the
Recreation Office.
The Seaforth Recreation
Department will be hosting a
sign language program once
again this summer. The pro-
gram will begin on Monday,
June 5. This will be a 10 -week
program. If interested please
call the Seaforth Recreation
Office at 527-0882.

Homemakers held their month-
ly dinner and get-together at
Seaforth and District Commun-
ity Centre on Thursday, May
19 with a good crowd attend-
ing. John Jamula welcomed the
group. A delicious meal was
served. Happy Birthday was
sung to Warren Whitmore,
Eleanor Horst and Marie Flynn.
The highlight of the day was
music played by the Huron
Strings and enjoyed by all.
Door prize was won by Clara
Dale.
Congratulations and Happy
50th Anniversary to a well-
known Mitchell couple, Nancy
and Charlie Robertson! All

health, happiness and many

RIBBON CUTTING - Seaforth Mayor Irwin Johnston cut the green ribbon of hope for
missing children to open Sunday's Walkathon for Huron County Child Find at the Seaforth
and District Community Centres. Organizers hope to make it an annual event. Shirley
Brooker looks on as top pledge -getter Les Dale and Connie Trotter hold the ribbon. About
$250 was raised for the charity.
District meeting in area

held its May 9 meeting at the
home of Doris Hugill. Presi-
dent Glady's Doig welcomed
everybody.
Roll call was answered by 14
members and three guests.
Minutes of their last meeting
and treasurer's report was
given by Sarah Elliott.
