Ladies' Auxiliary elects officers
J Seaforth Legion
by Barbera Scott
Seaforth Branch 156 of the
Royal Canadian Legion would
like to thank everyone who in
any way helped with the ring-
ing of the church bells, fire
whistle, town bell and school
bells last Friday to commemor-
ate the end of World War II in
Europe. It was a huge success
and Seaforth was on the 6 p.m.
news on CKNX - TV. I under-
stand bells all over the world
rang as well. Cleave Coombs,
Service Officer would like to
draw to the attention of Vet-
erans and their dependents the
"Last Post Fund." This fund is
to assist with the funerals of
veterans. Contrary to some
information the choice of cas-
ket is up to you. You just
inform your undertaker that
this could be a Last Post
Funeral. For more information
on this please contact Cleave at
527-1155.

4-H members
share customs
BY CRISTA
VANDEN HOVEN
The third meeting of the
Crafty Critters was held at
the Vanden Hoven's on
April 24 at 7 p.m.
Roll call was sharing an
Easter custom that each
person's family follows
year after year. Members
learned about different
types of Easter customs and
how they're celebrated.
Everyone learned that many
religions celebrate Easter.
Gerda Vanden - Hoven
explained that the Ukrainian
Easter is celebrated at a
different time because they
follow a different calendar.
The Ukrainians decorate
eggs with great detail. The
different colours and sym-
bols have various meanings
for them.
Jenette Wynja demon-
strated how to make wall-
paper angels. Members
carefully folded a huge
piece of wallpaper into 1'/
cm wide folds. After; the
folding part was done the
wallpaper was gathered and
tied together in the middle.
Members selected a bow to
match their and made an
arrangement of flowers. In
the end, each member had a
perfect angel to take home
and hang on their walls!
