Bake sale successful
The month of April was a
very busy month at Maplewood
Manor. AU the hard work at
craft classes and baking club
led to a very successful Easter
craft and bake sale. A big
thank you to all who supported
this endeavour. Lucky winners
of the Easter figurines were
Lindsey McNichol and Ashley
Nigh.
Residents boarded a van,
donated by John Hart, and
were off to the arena where
they enjoyed the Harmony
Kings concert. Their
performance was superb!
Weekly visits from public
school students of the grade 6-
7 class are enjoyed. We
especially thank them for the
beautiful Easter paintings that
adorned our hallways.
The monthly visits from
Carol Carter, Bill Gibson and
Marion Rose are
greatlyappreciated by all. Their music
is a pleasure to listen to.
Church services for the
month of April were conducted
by Rev. Stadelbauer-Sr- end

The children at the Seaforth
Co-operative Children's Centre
have been going out into the
community, to learn about
'People in our Neighbourhood'.
One of the interesting places
the children visited was Dr.
Tom Devereaux's Chiropractic
office. Some of the children
enjoyed laying on the tables as
Dr. Devereaux explained some
of the different techniques. The
highlight of the visit was each
child receiving a 'Chirosaurus'
Poster and balloon.
The children also participated
in a tour of Seaforth
Community Hospital. Grace
Dolmage and Dorothy Medd
gave a very informative tour.
The children were able to view
the patient rooms, the lounge,
pharmacy, kitchen, and supply
room. The children were able
to see the nursing staff in
action and had a chance to ask
them questions about their job.
Another highlight of the
children's look at 'People in
Our Neighbourhood' was a
visit to the centre by Firefigher
Richard Verberne. He talked to
the children about the special
equipment he needs to wear
and he brought some of this
equipment with him that the
children were able to try on.
Happy Birthday in the month
of April to Ccnnor Devereaux,
Craig Dalrymple, Scott Vande
borne, Greg Murray, Kendra
Falconer.

Rev. Redden. Rev. Sloan also
provided a communion service
for residents.
Easter morning residents
awoke to find that the Easter
bunny had made a visit. It's
funny how things never
change!
Residents enjoyed an outing
to Tasty Nu bake shop this
month. A coffee and donut hit
the spot on such a cold, rainy
day.
Hymn sing, euchre, bingo,
exercises, baking and crafts are
other activities that are of
interest to residents.
The month ended with a trip
to Blyth Memorial Hall to see
the performance of the Carry-
On-cloggers. A great evening it
was!
