PROUD RACERS AND THEIR CREATIONS - Area Cub Scouts pose with some of their handiwork prior
to their annual Kub Car Rally at the Seaforth and District Community Centres Sunday afternoon. Ten
Cub packs from Perth District entered 49 wee cars they fashioned themselves from blocks of wood in
the competition. Cars were also judged for design in three classes; classic, comic and modem. The
fastest car in the aftemoon's racing was built by Robbie Hamilton of Cromarty.
Cromarty Cub wins car rally
A Cromarty Cub's car was fastest
to the finish at the annual Perth
District Kub Car rally at the
Seaforth and District Community
Centres Sunday.
Robbie Hamilton won the well-
atten led event, with all 10 packs
from the district competing.
The cubs were given a block of
wood, four wheels and some nails
for axles, then fashioned them into
miniature cars. Most of the 49
entrants were quite elaborate and
showed hours of attention.
But the object wasn't to only look
smart. The cars ran off against each
other down ramps in Sunday
afternoon's event.
Jeff Nairn of Kirkton was second
by the checkered flag. The other
top -five finishers, in order of
placement, were: Micheal Kollman
of Ellice, Cody Roger of Kirkton
and Charly Hutson of Fullarton.
Queensway residents see movie
On Monday evening the residents
of Queensway Nursing Home had
an opportunity to use their green
thumb and play in the dirt. We
planted flower seeds of various
types so we can get plants started to
plant outside later. Earlier in the
day we stepped back into the past
to see, a very early Shirley Temple
movie. Residents enjoyed seeing
Bright Eyes - one of Shirley's
earliest movies.
