It's words like this, that the homecoming committee needs to keep them inspired during their anxiety attacks. Such celebrations are not arranged successfully with- out a great deal of financial cost. Lack of money is a big concern at the present time. If anyone would like to help offset expenses involved in the planning, it would be greatly appreciated. Two well-known couples cel- ebrate anniversaries this week; Helen and Murray Stewart of Milverton and Pat and Brenda Kenny of Seaforth. My you very special people enjoy happy years ahead! Katie Murray enjoyed the follow- ing visitors this past week; Phillip Flanagan, Toronto, and his daugh- ter, Betty Galliger, Uxbridge; Mary Dantzer, London; Sharon Lepage, Kitchener and Brenda Rickeu, Kitchener. Joe Eckert was visited by Rita, Keith and Brian Kelly. Heartfelt sympathy of the com- munity is extended to Frank Doyle, Toronto, on the loss of his dear wife, Josephine, who was buried in St. Columban on Monday, April 17. Sympathy also to Josephine's sister- in-law, Nell Doyle of Dublin and to other relatives and friends. Our love and • prayers are with you at this difficult time. Seaforth Legion by Barbara Scott c Legion members visit new hall in Mitchell Last Saturday about 25 members of Seaforth Branch 156 travelled to Mitchell by bus fdr the official opening of the newly renovated Legion hall. By all accounts it was a very enjoyable time. Congratula- tions to. Mitchell Branch 128. Sunday April 23, 11 members of the Branch 156 Ladies Auxiliary were in Mitchell for the Zone C-1 Auxiliary Convention. Zone Com- mander C-1 Eva Brown conducted the meeting and Mitchell Auxiliary President Mary Beth Nevin opened and closed the meeting. Provincial Chairman Leona Doupe was the officer representing Provincial Command. The Parade under Par- ade Marshall Jim Brown and Sgt -at - Arms Mitchell Branch Fred Scott was very impressive with the col- ours of all twelve auxiliarys pres- ent. • Last Thursday at the general meeting the election of officers was carried out. The following are the officers for the coming year. Presi- dent, John Lansink; 1st vice presi- dent, Linda Gridzak; 2nd vice presi- dent, Jim Watson; secretary, Thelma Coombs; treasurer, Don Eaton; executive committee, Jean Ross, Al Nicholson, Charles Perkins, Ed Baker, Dave Watson and Ralph Wood; auditor, John Longstaff. The Provincial Service Officer will be at the local Branch April 27 at 9 a.m. Please contact Cleave Coombs for an appointment. There will be a fraternal bowling in Clinton on May 6. Sign on the list on the board if you are inter- ested. The qualifying round for the zone golf tournament will take place at the Seaforth Golf Club on May 27 at 10 a.m. Sign on the list for this event. The next Sunday dinner by the Ladies Auxiliary will be on Mother Day. Plan to attend. 'At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remem- ber them. Correction The estimated cost of repairing the Chalk Street transformer is $8,000 higher than as reported in last week's newspaper. Now is the time to start stocking up green and yellow Christmas tree bulbs and balloons in preparation for house decorating. While you are spring cleaning, don't forget to keep out the old clothes you have been sav- ing to wear at a reunion. Location of the committee room has been changed. It is now next door to the Bistro Restaurant (com- pliments of B.I.A.). Opening May 3, temporary hours at present are Wednesday and Friday (1-4 p.m.) and Saturday (9 a.m. - 12.p.m.). Volunteers are needed for the com- mittee room. Call Bessie at the Hobby Shop 527-2010. Souvenir items will be available. Chief of Police Hal Clause attended the last meeting to give some assistance regarding security, crowd control and parking concerns. Neil McGavin and Maureen Agar have both been talking to Mr. Plumsteel and he will be back for the reunion. He is likely curious to see how successful his students are after a few 'trying' years at Seaforth District High School with them. The High School Art Class is getting involved with the festivities, and will be painting store windows. THE HURON EXPOSITOR, April 26, 1995-3 Maureen Wildfong is giving them some direction. The revised schedule of events should be completed this week and be available by the end of May. There are still eight names on the return mail fist. Check the Home- coming News in the April 12 Huron Expositor. Ken and Lois Moore are still sending out invitations. Carolanne Doig likened the Homecoming planning to wedding preparations.
