It gives artists, and an lovers, a chance to view some interesting creations from people in, or near, their own community. In past years, well known area artists such as Mark Fletcher, St. Mary's; Bonnie Steinman, Tavistock; Jane Turnbull, Stratford; and Jo Manning from Blyth have participated in this show. The jurors for this year's exhibi- tion will be London artist, Tom Benner, and Arlene Kennedy, Director of the McIntosh Gallery, London. The exhibition will run from April 15 to May 14, 1995, with the opening reception on Friday, April 21, 8 - 10 p.m. Cash awards will be announced at this opening. The juried exhibition has proved to be very popular and successful in past years. In 1993 the Gallery received over 125 entries from this area's talented amateur and pro- fessional artists, from which forty to fifty pieces of quality work were selected. Lawson Killer Insurance and Financial Services has been a proud sponsor of this exhibit for 18 years and are the exhibit sponsors in Stratford for Empty Dress, showing concurrently with the Perth Huron Exhibit. Richard is one of at least six guest sport panelists who are scheduled to visit the Mitchell & District Community Centre on Wednesday, May 10th, as the Mitchell Meteors Bantam hock- ey team host a fundraising din- ner. Richard, now 73, became the first player in National Hockey League (NHL) history to score 50 goals in 50 games in 1944- 45, an unheard of event in that era. This year marks the 50th anniversary of that achievement. Also scheduled to appear is former heavyweight boxing great George Chuvalo, who recently was honored by his induction into the Ontario Sport Legends Hall of Fame; `Ice' off of the U.S. television show American Gladiators; Tim Burkhardt, player/coach of the Washington Generals (the team that always loses to the Harlem Globetrotters); sports comedian Craig "Frenchie" McFarland; and Mitchell's own Jay Heinbuck, currently the head coach of St. Lawrence University's hockey team. PROCEEDS FOR LIGHTS AT STANLEY TWP. BASEBALL DIAMOND Seaforth Meat Market 27 Main Street, Seaforth, Ontario 527-1821 Dear Customer, We're moving as of April 29, 1995. One of our major accounts has decided to purchase pre-packaged foods in order to streamline kitchen staff and make their operation less labour intensive. We have appreciated their business and desire for high quality meats but understand in this era of budget cuts, there is no choice.. Our walk-in trade, each and every one of you know who you are - are appreciated but unfortunately, it does not make for a viable business on its own. Without this major account, we have a choice to make - close down or expand. We have chosen to expand and 'nave to 364 Bayfield Road, Goderich, Ontario N7A 4E7. It is with mixed emotion that we move after 3 1/2 years of business in Seaforth. Just when you get to know people by name, what they want or don't, makes it difficult to move and start all over again. We have appreciated the continued patronage of our customers especially through our learning and growing first year. It was your continued confidence in us that made us strive to improve our quality and service. Although we don't like to see a business move out of Seaforth, we have no choice financially. Should you wish to continue purchasing from us, we will provide FREE DELIVERY on a twice weekly basis (Thursday and Saturday). We are, as of May 5, 1995 at 364 Bayfield Road, Goderich, Ontario N7A 4E7. Phone collect 524-5450. Our last day of business in Seaforth is April 29, 1995. Be assured the quality and freshness you have been used to will continue until we close. Thanks again for your patronage! We couldn't have done it ivithorit you! Come and see us in Goderich - we'd love to see a familiar face. Gavin, Mary, Luke, Jillian, Carol, Cindy & Mike
