Don't miss the Easter Egg Hunt again this year in Victoria Park and Si. James School Playground Yard. The hunt will be on Saturday, April 15 beginning at 10:00 am. schoolers are in Victoria Park and 6 to 10 year olds are in St. James School Yard. Come out and meet the Easter Bunny and his friends. The Annual Fishing Derby for children will be held at the Seaforth Lions Park on Saturday, April 29. All children 14 years and under are welcome. Fishing will begin at 7:00 a.m. The early bird gets the 'fish'. Prizes will be awarded, so don't miss out. NOTICE TO PUBLIC: Please stay off the Tennis Courts with your in-line skates (roller blades), and hockey sticks. The courts have been newly -resur- faced and are meant for tennis. St. Columban 4-H club learns by doing by JEREMY RYAN The St. Columban 4-H Friends learned how to sew buttons on fabric at their meeting on Thurs- day, April 6. The meeting started with the 4-H pledge. The secretary read the minutes from the last meeting.. The club formed into groups and talked about the roll call. The 4-H leaders talked about what group members had to do at home. She explained how to measure shortening, flour and salt. Next they split up in two groups, to do sewing and cooking. In cook- ing class they made shakem-up- pudding. Dianne taught club members how to sew hems and how to sew buttons on fabric. The meeting closed with the league motto, "Learn to do by doing." The next meeting is Thursday, April 20 in the St. Columban Church Basement.
