Drop-in centre hosts many
Join the Hensall Community
Drop -In, April 20, at the Hensall
United Church. Activities include:
foot care at 10 a.m.; lunch at noon;
entertainment with Brent and Grace
Yearly; exercises with Biddy
Cammack; and Elaine Bakos will
be the guest speaker on Medic Alert
and Nutrition. Helen MacLean will
give an Easter reading. Reserve by
phoning Margaret Cole (262-2304)
or Faye Skinner, Town and Country
Homemakers, (235-0258).
Reservation must be made before
noon Monday.
The Sunset Seniors met April 4
for a pot luck dinner at the Hensall
United church. Helen McKay
welcomed everyone and 16
members answered the roll call.
Hilda Payne entertained with a
poem, "A Recipe For Perfect
Misery". The senior Games are in
Stratford. The Spring Rally is in
Dungannon, April 25. The group is
invited to the Legion April 12 at 1
p.m. Euchre was enjoyed, the
winners were: Pearl McKnight,
Hugh McKay, Evelyn McBeath,
Pearl Taylor, lone hands Hilda
Payne.
The Afternoon Ladies Group met
in Hensall United Church, April 6
at 2 p.m. with 15 women present.
Elva Forrest opened the meeting
with a poem, followed by a prayer.
Anne Annen had the devotional and
gave an inspirational Easter
message. Anne received the
offering and gave the dedication. A
hymn was then sung followed by
prayer. Hilda Payne was the pianist.
St. Columban
'Sappy Syrup' club
has meeting

After the meeting was opened and
the minutes read, the "Sappy
Syrup" group made Maple Syrup
popcorn. Club members read from
their books and put them in order,
then ate the popcorn they made and
joined the other clubs to close the
meeting.

Sadie Craig gave the treasurer's
report. The minutes of the March
meeting were read and the roll call
taken. Thirty-one visits were made.
Mary Roobol sent one card. Evelyn
McBeath gave a reading. Elva
Forrest showed an Easter video.
The meeting closed with the
Mizpah Benediction. Mary
Alexander and Rena Caldwell
served lunch.
The Friendship Circle of the
Hensall United Church met on
April 3. Mona Alderdice opened the
meeting with the 'Faster Message'.
Members and guests answered the
roll call. The devotion 'Preparing
For Easter' was given by Belva
Fuss. Everyone enjoyed the slide
presentation by Olene and Murray
Dennis on their trip to the Holy
Land. They were thanked by Helen
MacLean and presented with a gift.
A delicious lunch was served by
Marg Cole and Mona Alderdice and
a time of fellowship was enjoyed.
The Royal Canadian Legion
Seniors Program, Zone C-1, will be
holding an Information Day, April
29 at Branch 140 Clinton from 10
a.m. to 3 p.m. All seniors are
invited and there will be a free
lunch. There will be speakers on
travel, health and other issues. For
more information contact Betty
Simmons (262-2106) before April
20.

At Hensall United Church, this
past Sunday, Rev. Henry Annen's
message was "Two Parades". The
childrens story was "Helping
Others". Greeting the worshipers
were Bi11 and Belva Fuss, while
Doug Kyle and Raye Jacobe
ushered. There will be a Maundy
Thursday service beginning at 7:30
p.m. Communion will be served.
There will be Sunrise Service April
16 beginning at 7 a.m., breakfast
will follow. Easter Church Service
will begin at 10 a.m.
Official Board meet April 19. To
place flowers in the church for
Easter call Carol Martin (262-
2411). The Hensall United Church
Beef Supper is April 26, call Marg
Cole at 262-2304 or the church
office at 262-2935, for tickets.

The spring board meeting was
held on Tuesday, April 4, at
Hensall United Church. The eight
Branches answered the Roll Call
relating "A Storm Story" bringing
back many memories.
Brief Reports of the different
Committees were given results and
information: Pitch In Week - May
1-7 (should be all year around);
Program Co-ordinators to get
Annual reports to Grace Drummond
by May 1 for the District Annual
on May 18 at Usborne Central
School at 6 p.m.; Mary Nicholas
the F.W.I.D. Board Director wants
Volunteer hours for all the time you
work as a W.I. member at home,
schools, fairs, community etc.; June
14 - Prelude Day at the Ontario
Agricultural Museum, Milton starts
the Centennial Celebrations with
displays of Quilts, Tours and a
B.B.Q.; Christmas Balls to be
ordered at District Annual and can
be picked up at Area Convention on
October 20; Credition W.I. are
selling the "Environmentally
Friendly Hints" book; Slice of
Huron at Seaforth Community
Centre - April 10 - 13 with an
Open House for all on April 12
from 6:30 - 9 p.m.; Appreciation
Night for those helping at Slice of
Huron April 28 at the Seaforth
Agriculture Building at 7:59 p.m.;
A.C.W.W. Project is buying a
drying machine for peppers; The
$80 used for the Centralia College
Award is to be sent to the
headquarters fund.; Each District is
to make a banner depicting their
area; Picnic to be held July 4 in
Credition; Fall Rally Oct. 2 hosted
by Huron East; W.I. Educational
Committee Workshop held three
microwave classes (Deb Campbell
as instructor) and five craft courses
making a Spring Wreath (Temara
Weber of Little Village Crafts)

Concerns gave presentations at each

church hall, Dublin. The Bridal
party was in charge and many

the friends and neighbours of the
community and the MacRae family

R.E. (Bob) Osborne, District
Governor A-9 of the Lions Club
International Association,
announced at the 21st Annual Lions
Convention in Kincardine on
Sunday, April 9 that Don J.
