opening session of the Huron County
Council this afternoon, C; A. Rob-
ertson, reeve of Colborne Township,
was appointed warden for the ensu
year. Following the usual cus-
tom the Liberal members of the
Council had the; privilege of choos-
ing the. warden this year. In caucus
the names of C. A, Robertson and E.
F. Klopp, reeve of X-ray, were 'placed
before the Meeting, On the first'
ballot Reeve Robertson won by nine
to five. When the Council reas-
sembled he was unanimously elect-
ed. te;.•the chair. The warden in his

sed away at Ildertbn on Friday, Jan.
23rd, Charles H. Duplan, a 'former
well-known resident and station
agent of this place. The late • 1VIr.
Duplan had been in very poor health
for many months, suffering- from
heart trouble, hence his death was
not unexpected. He was a man of
sterling character and numbered his
friends as many and his demise will
be deeply regretted by his many
friends. His wife predeceased him
March 5th, 1920. Mr. Duplan was Mrs. ellford, Sr., of Port Hope is
a valued member of the Anglican visiting at. Mr. Wesley Johns.

vived by two sons, Rev. Austin Du-
