The monthly meeting of the
Women's Institute was held -Tues-
day evening at the home of Mrs..
Wm. Dearing. Plans were discus-
sed for giving further relief to those
in need. It was decided to hold a
sale of home "Made cooking in the
near future else, arrangements were
made'. for an i. ktorical contest Miss
L. Jeckell delighted the members by
giving some interesting features of
her . trip to Yukon. • Each member
answered the roll call by giving "My.
favorate icing." -
The' annual- meeting: of the Exeter
Co-operative Live Stock Marketing
Association' was- held in Exeter ' on
Jan. 22nd. The shippers report show-
ed that $33,163.61 worth of business
had been donee• since organization.
In discussing the report it was point --
ed out that not only the members
of the 'association but also farmers
of the surrounding district had been
receiving from 25 to 50 cents per
hundred pounds, more for their hogs
since the association was organized
compd'red with 'surrounding ,mar-

tory of the Hay Township . Fanners'
Mutual Fire Insurance Co. compiled
by Mr. Henry Either, of Crediton,
manager andsecretary-treasuer of
the company for 44 years. : The re-
port contains a complete history of
the company 'since its inception and
is put tip in such an attractive style
as to be read with interest by any-
one securing a. copy The first presi-
dent 'of the Company was ' John B.
Geiger and the sec'y-trees: was H.
V. Dirstein, who acted for six year's.
Phe amount ,at risk the first year
was $203,450 and the company has
grown until the amount at, risk at
the Close of 1924 was almost five
and a half millions. ' The, heaviest
loss in any one year was in 1913
when the loss , was $14,592. Mr:

A telegram was received here on
Friday morning by Mi. Esli Hey-
wood' from Miss Margaret E. Haist,
stating that her father had ""died on
Thursday evening at his home in
Hersey,'.1Vlichigan. Mr. Heist will be
remembered by a number of people
in Exeter and Crediton, and• more
especially .at Crediton, he having
lived in these two places in his early
days. He came to Canada about
sixty -years ago from Germany and
after spending a, couple of years in
the afore named places, he went to
Michigan, where he took up land
and engaged in clearing and farm-
ing and where he has resided con-
tinuously. Mr. Heist is a brother` to
the late members of the family,
Mrs. John Fritz, Mrs. Matthew Fink-
beiner and Harry Heist.
MRS. JOHN TREVICHIOK DIES
There died at her .home on Satur-
day, Jan, , 17th, Mary, Maria Grace
Amy, beloved wife of . John Trevi-
thick. The deceased was in her
fifty-ninth year and succumbed to
heart trouble after an illness' of a
'few' weeks.' She was a resident of
Stephen Township, having been born
there but Later lived at Crediton
until final ; residence at Brinsley:

The burial service Which was largely
attended' was beautifully conducted
in the church by the pastor, Rev.
D. McTavish, assisted by Rev.: G.
Rivers of Parkhill. The choir:rend-
ered special music. Interment took
place at Mar's Hill Cemetery on
Monday afternoon. The, six eldest
sons acted as pallbearers. Tour
girls' of the congregation. carried the
',many floral contribiutions which
were received from the relatives and
friends of the. deceased. Besides' her
husband, there is left to mourn her
great loss the family including, Gor-
don, Alvey and Mrs. Wes. Hodgins
