Columbus Hockey Tournament at
the Seaforth and District
Community Centres on the
weekend.

the senior championship final
Sunday evening, with Goderich II
winning senior consolation honours
by edging the Dublin White squad
6-5.
On the junior side Saturday, St.
Marys tied both Kinkora and Zurich
2-2 in the semi-final and
championship games, but won them
both by having more shots on goal.
Exeter edged Zurich II 4-3 in the
junior consolation game.
Twenty teams took part in the
two-day tournament, which
originated in the early 1960s.

DON'T FORGET
SPORTS EDITION
(or it will be the pits)
Please don't forget the annual
SPORTS EDITION of The
Iluron Expositor which will be
coming your way soon.
We got to counting around
here last week and came up with
a least 60 Seaforth and area
winter teams that should have
their pictures taken for this
edition, but we've only got about
a dozen or so now on file
despite recently promoting it
prominently.
All winter sports are eligible -
beanbag to whatever, young and
old. We don't get a chance to
run many team pictures normally
because the paper would be
filled with nothing but sports,
hence the need, we feel, for this
annual special edition.
But it will only be as good as
YOU make it! There are only so
many places we can be at once.
If you've had a team picture
taken and haven't handed it in
please do so we can have a copy
made of it and identify team
members.
If your team hasn't had to
"watch the birdie" yet please
contact Gregor or Tim at 527-
0240 to arrange for a photograph
before we all forget about winter
sports and move on to summer
pastimes.
It's all free too.
A true "Bargoon", as Eddie
Shack might put it!
Marauders lead
March 23 was the second week of
playoffs for the Thursday Nighters'
Bowling League. It's turning out to
be a very evenly -matched playoff
series with no particular team jump-
ing into the lead. Everyone is still
in the running.
Murray's Marauders are now in
first place with 6971 points. Help-
ing out the cause for the team were
Mary Wynja 248-528; Bonnie
Janmaat 182; Erich Matzold 229
and Murray Bennewies
309,258,363-930.
Closing in on the Marauders are
the Wolverines with 6943. Top
bowlers for the Wolverines were
Karsten Carroll 256,205-657; Sue
Alce 215,198-560; Connie Trotter
206-523, Don Brown 264 and Mike
Thomson 210.
Moving down a couple of places
were The Buds with 6925. Bowling
great games for The Buds were
Jason Cooper 180; Patricia Schwarz
186-514; Gary Bedard 227,226-639;
and John Coleman 279,205-668.
Get back to bowling soon, John.

HE FORGOT THE PUCK - Action was fast and furious near the end of regulation time in the consolation
final as Dublin's White team crashed the net looking for the equalizer in a squeaker Sunday night, a 6-5
loss to Goderich II at the Knights of Columbus Hockey Tournament at the Seaforth and District
Community Centres. Twenty area teams from surrounding parishes took part in the annual spring
toumament, which has been going strong for more than 30 years. Zurich waltzed to the senior
championship and St. Marys took the junior title, by virtue of more shots on net in both the semi-final
and final..

Simplified Huron Expositor "Scoreboard" forms and drop boxes
are now available at the newspaper and prominently located in the
front lobby of the Seaforth and District Community Centres. This
will enable us to get the results from any game sheets, particularly
away games, that do not pass by Recreation Director Marty
Bedard's desk every Monday morning. These "Scoreboard" forms
don't require much time and effort from managers or coaches to
fill out. You don't have to be Shakespeare. Just the basics are
required - who, what, when and where- legibly printed, first names
and last. Deadline for inclusion in the coming week's paper is
Mondays at noon. Late reports will not be used the following week.
Anybody with constructive comments or suggestions can call Gregor
Campbell at the Expositor office at 527-0240.
