SPRING CLEANING - Local youths parlayed the yen to raise some funds and the sunny weather Saturday afternoon into roughly $300
profit from a car wash which will go towards a Youth Drop -In Centre they are hoping to establish on Seaforth's Main Street. Pledges by
local businesses increased the total profit for the attemoon's work to $442.

Bev and family and also with their
daughter Cheryl and Glen and their
new baby, Lucas.
Karl MacNaughton is now the
owner of a six-year-old trotting
mare named, `Safftre Grette'. Karl
claimed her at Windsor Raceway on
Friday. Here's hoping. she brings
you many wins. The MacNaughtons
also hosted their annual family
gathering this weekend. Along with
Karl's parents and aunts and uncles
the master fiddler, Mr. Willis
Desgardine (from Dashwood) was
there as well.
Brandy and Tanner Banks spent a
great week in MacGregor Manitoba
visiting with their friends. This was
the first time back since moving
from there in 1992.
Greeters at Duff's United Church
on March 26 were Scott and Kelly
McDonald. Randy Banks led the
congregation with some bad news
as he announced the sudden death
that morning of Roy Williamson.
After praying for the family the
.service continued with the Call to
Worship. Jo -Ann and Kelly
McDonald read the Lenten liturgy
and Kelly extinguished the pink
candle.
Rev. Banks then announced that
next Sunday's. Lenten project will
'be five cents each time someone
uses the telephone. He called the

The Doves took an early lead in
the St. James Bowling League
Playoffs at Starlight Lanes on Mon-
day, March 20.
Jack Ryan led the Doves with
236,265,304-805 and Andrea Rowe
206-459.
The Eagles are in second place,
10 pins behind the Doves, paced by
George Love with 243,213,243-699;
Betty Johnston 239-595, and Karen
Hoegy 265-554.
The Emus are in third place, with
high scores by Gord Murray
292,248,219-759, and Rob Simpson
258-613.
The Loons are next in line with
top scores by Bob Dinsmore
260,223,220-703 and Martin Van
Bakel 220-587.
The Partridges were led by Arie
Van Diepen with 229,227,228-684.
Murray Bennewies was the leader
for the Jays with 215,222-618,
Martin Andreassi 215,201-615 and
Wilhelmina Poppe 201,202-567.
Playoff standings: Doves - 3002;
Eagles - 2992; Emus - 2933; Loons
- 2896; Partridges - 2822; Jays -

Eric Matzold, Olave
Little high bowlers
Thirty-two seniors turned out
to bowl on March 24. Once
again Eric Matzold had high
single 288 and triple 631 for the
men. Olave Little took high
single 207 and triple 551 for the
ladies.
Bowling over 200 were Ron
Bennett 200 and 210; Sandy
Doig 210; Oliver Pryce 205.
Bowling over their averages
were Fred Munnings, Maxine
Marks, Watson Reid, Joyce
Wallace, Marjorie Rock, Betty
Leonhardt and Annie Malcolm.
With only one more week to
bowl the teams' standings are
Jets 56, Canadiens 55, Maple
Leafs 51, Flames 45, Oilers 34
and the Canucks 33.

on the Lenten Garden Trellis. He
then told them the parable about the
Parodical Son.
His sermon was titled 'Therapy
for the Elder Brother'. After the
service the Sunday School served
coffee and muffins.
The next United Church Women
meeting will be on April . 5 at 8
p.m. On behalf of the community I
would like to express our deepest
condolences to Kathleen
Williamson, her son Tom and
daughter Shirley and their families.
Roy's presence in the community
will be sadly missed.

The Huron County Board of Education
FRENCH IMMERSION
Based on interest levels shown, French Immersion will be available in
Grade 5 at Robertson Memorial Public School and Grades 5 and 6 at
Exeter Public School. The program will begin in September 1995
. provided there is sufficient enrolment and available classroom space.
Parents of eligible students can pick up registration forms at any public
elementary school in the county.
Information meetings will be held at Robertson Memorial Public School
in Goderich on Monday, April 3rd, 1995, at 7:00 p.m. and Exeter Public
School on Tuesday, April 4th, 1995, at 7:00 p.m.
A decision on whether or not to begin the program will be based on the
number of registrations submitted by Friday, April 7th, 1995.
