troit last week to resume her duties
after a visit here with her parents.

last week of the serious illness of
his sister, Mrs. Paul 'Boa; who re-

The scarcity of water in the coun-
try is becoming more acute each
week. That January thaw .should
be along any day now.
Miss. Hazel Kestle returned home
Thursday of last week after spend-
ing a few days with Mr. and 1VIrs.

parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J, Carling
and other relatives here, returned to
her home in Wellington on Thurs-
day last.

underwent an operation for appendi-
citis in Victoria Hospital, London

week' and is getting along fine.

ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Allison,

;York to resume her duties as nurse.
The members 'of the Girl's Insti-
tute held an enjoyable quilting bee
at the home of Miss Leda Harding
on: Monday. The quilt, -vas after-
wards donated 'to a needy family, of
Thera: ice harvest has started.. on
the river above the -dam. Teams
are engaged in hauling ice for the
hamlock Creamery, Centralia. The

has been confined to her bed for
